An Exercise for a Firmer Sexier Butt

An  Exercise for a Firmer Sexier Butt and Thighs

Want to know what the best butt exercise is to get that sexy tight firm butt? I don't think I know one single woman that doesn't want to achieve a tighter firmer butt.

Well, the answer to your quest for the best butt exercise is not in some fancy machine or butt blaster. In fact, most of your best butt exercises are simply done with bodyweight or free weights. I'll cover one of the most effective exercises for tightening the old buttocks in this article. I'll reveal some of the other top butt exercises in future articles.

The topic of this article is the single-legged Romanian Deadlift. It's a great exercise for firming both the butt and the back of the thighs (hamstrings). Also, because this is a single-leg exercise, it really helps strengthen your ankles and other stabilizer muscles throughout your legs. Here's how to do it:

1. Looking straight ahead, stand and balance on one leg, and kick the other leg out slightly behind you.

2. Maintain a very slight bend in the knee throughout this exercise.

3. Now start to bend forward while simultaneously pushing the butt and hips back and keeping a flat (not rounded) back.

4. While bending over and pushing the hips back, kick your other leg out behind you and reach down with your hands towards the toe of your foot that's planted on the ground and try to touch it. You should feel a stretch in the hamstrings as you get to the deepest part where your back is parallel to the floor.

5. Then, focus on squeezing the butt muscle hard while you reverse the movement and bring yourself back to upright (all the while maintaining that flat back)

Alright, that was one rep! Now do 5-10 reps with each leg for 2-3 sets mixing this exercise into one of your normal workouts (or even just try this at home in your living room). At the end of a couple sets, I guarantee you'll be feeling this big-time in your buttocks and the back of your thighs!

I know it may sound a little complicated, and the first time you try this butt exercise, you may really need to concentrate on your balance. But after a couple sessions of practicing these one-legged romanian deadlifts, you'll start to get the hang of them and be able to focus more concentration on keeping the butt tight throughout the range of motion.

First weigh in

by bittenbythelovebugComment Published at 17:4017:402 comments2 comments19 Visits19 VisitsReport
Hiya, since meeting my husband six years ago, I have put on 30 kg and as I have never been overweight before, I have found it really hard to lose it. So I spoke to my doctor two weeks ago about seeing a dietitian and she suggested I go to the Diet Clinic. Who new there was such a thing? Anyway, I went along and got some advise on what I should be doing and what i've been doing wrong. It all came down to carbohydrates, I have been consuming far too much apparently. So now i'm on this healthy eating plan (diet is now a dirty word?) and for the first week I felt like I was starving, but this week has been heaps better. My first weigh in is this tuesday, so it will be very interesting. Wish me luck!! Tracey xx

Newbie Here

Hey All,

I just joined this group today hoping to shed some light on weightloss, and also gain some advice as well. Firstly, I would like to introduce myself quickly..My name is Linayra or Lin for short, I have a 6 year old daughter. I am 25 years old, currently weighing 106.6 kg. I'm only 5'3 (158cm) approx.

I've always been overweight growing up, I come from a family who are large and/or cuddley. We all have broad shoulders and my sister and I have large breasts...and also suffer from servere back pain from it.

The problem for me is not enough excercise...not eating ENOUGH..I skip meals and my breaky contains a coffee and 2-3 ciggies thats it!! I had no modivation whatsoever to get out and go for a walk, I sat at home feeling sorry for myself, not really having a social life either...Just stayed in my small contained flat doing the cleaning, watching tv or on the internet. Thats what my life would contain of 7 days a week.

Recenlty, my daughter started grade 1 and I was left with alot more time on my hands. The first couple of months was great, but eventually I got sick of feeling trapped and having nothing accomplished at the end of the day. So I went onto Every Job Network I could find and Apply for hundreds of Jobs...Literally hundreds..I wasn't fussed, I just wanted a job to bring security, be finacially stable and most importantly to be happy.

Eventually I got a call to do some temp work in the Brisbane City with the Bank of Queensland, atleast I would get a few weeks pay and I wouldn't be home feeling sorry for myself. Within 2 weeks of working there I have now gone full time.

The reason I'm telling you this...Is because since working, EVERYTHING has changed, Me as a person and a Mum. I now have so much confidence, modivation, and a huge self esteem boost as well. I'm only loosing 1-2 kg per week but atleast thats something. I can now look in the mirror and say how beautiful I look. Before working, I never looked in the mirror, I never wore make up and my wardrobe consisted of clothes I wore when being pregnant 3 years ago. Slowly i'm building that up to consist of the appropriate Office Clothes. I'm doing more things for myself like getting nails done, hair etc to feel more like a human being.

The main thing I lacked was confidence and modivation!! Every excuse under the sun I used because I didn't want to leave my comfort zone...Now, I can honestly say due to having a job and security I'm not going back!! I will be on a long road to reach my goal of 60 kg but no obsticles can get in my way.

A few tips that helped me is:

I needed to accept that I'm overweight and that I had a weight problem.

I needed to learn to love myself and be able to look in the mirror and smile

Knowing that by eating less or nothing at all, or by skipping meals that I wouldn't loose weight.

I learnt that I had to stop making excuses for myself, don't think about it..just do it.

That your not going to loose weight overnight, its a combination between eating the reccomended serve of 5 vegies and 2 serves of fruit per day does help.

I don't excercise much, start with only 15-20 mins of walking per day..you may not see results straight away but don't let that discourage you. Keep at it and you will start to see results within a few weeks.

I only weigh myself once a week, if I know I haven't lost anything, then I walk faster. I catch public transport to work but I do walk home (about a 15 min walk) I power walk home even if I do feel stuffed by the end of it.

I'm a big coffee drinker, so I cut that in half as well as my ciggies. I have a cup of coffee to 2 cups of water etc to make sure  I have my daily intake of water each day (reccomend 7 glasses of water)

I hope some of this helped...Just remember we are all beautiful and there is nothing that we can't accomplish together. If your needing modivation or find it fustrating..let us know and we'll do our best to try and help...and hopefully beat this weightloss together. xxxx from Linayra
