A little bit of info...

Hi,

My name is Gwen, I live in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.  I am 34 years old and my husband is 36. We  have been married for 16 and a half years and have 5 beautiful boys aged 17, 15, 10, 6 & 4.  I have been trying to get pregnant now for about 6 months.  My problem is I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies, one on either side.  My left is working but my right isnt.  I have also had a miscarriage and a fetal death of my much wanted little girl at 24 weeks.

So here I am waiting for my next miracle to occur

A little bit of info...
Hi all!  My name is Mindy.  I live in the states, have one son (5), am 24 and am not actively TTC.  I've been off birth control for at least a year, but since we are not quite ready for another little one (I'm in grad school), we've been using other methods.  I have been wanting another baby for the last couple years and am VERY excited that we will get to start trying in the next couple months.  I've starting tracking my BBT to know when I ovulate for when we do start trying.

A little bit of info...
Hello! I am not actively ttc atm but will be one day as I want 5 kids. I have 3 kids and have to say there is no way i will ever be prepared for preg or parenting!! So I guess I am just thinking about the next preg - wanting to do the best for the next time. I am already thinking about what to buy, what to eat, what tests I wont have, and which hospital to go to - even considering home water birth. I wish I thought of these things with my first. So i am very interested in hearing about other ppl's experience.

My name is kym, I am 28, married and living in Melb, Australia. My kids are 6, 3 and 9mths.

I have been curious about water birth, myself. Do you know anyone who has tried it? A friend of mine had planned to, but both her babies were breached so she had to go to the hospital.

A little bit of info...
Hi lindterbean. I can't remember for sure, but during the first few visits to the OB/GYN during pregnancy, I think CF was one of the things they tested me for along with down syndrome and a few others. Though I think it was through blood test because I never did any mouth washing test thingy. Anyway, like I said I'm not 100% on that since my son has taken most of my brain cells.

I think brain cells are neither gained nor lost, they just move around. I think mine have all decided to become fat cells. . .

Re: cystic fibrosis tests
With the cystic fibrosis test it can be done in a few ways ,the simplest way is the mouth wash taste. You swish some water around in your mouth, spit it into a test tube type container then it is tested for the gene that indicates you are a carrier of the disease. this defective gene is known as deltaf 508. its the most common of them although there is twenty strains of the gene and plenty of rare ones also. The test is simple and although i was worried it was easy, the people that tested me were at a genetics clinic. They were understanding helpful and will answer any question you have at all. Its not as if you race in swish a little water and race out. You get told all the info you need, what your options are if you are a carrier, they make you understand what is they are doing. The test results take about 3 weeks to come back. Also i heard there is a hair strand test and a blood test also, although i was told the blood test will cost you.Anything else you need just ask ok lindterbean
