Cloth Nappies for Boys??

by gingermugginsComment Published at 06:3606:364 comments4 comments1172 Visits1172 VisitsReport

My 2 girls were in cloth nappies all the time, apart from when we went on holidays. I used to love seeing the clothes line full of clean white nappies . When my son came along, i started him in cloth but found i was changing him from head to toe a few times a day. i always made sure his boyhood was pointing down and the nappie was on properly but he never failed to saturate everything. His sleeping was interupted aswell because he didnt like the wet feeling.  When we moved onto disposable nappies his clothes stayed dry more often and he slept better ( still does ). It is an expensive option and im not impressed with the amount of rubbish associated with disposable nappies but it has help in my and my sons prediciment.

I would like to hear how other parents of boys made cloth nappies a success.

Keep Smiling

Night nappies

by mcmComment Published at 01:3301:331 comments1 comments147 Visits147 VisitsReport

I am interested to know what others are using at night?

We started out using pockets and AIOs for night time. The Wonderworks magic all and bumGenius in particular. We are now moving towards fitteds and wool soakers for night. I have been wanting a Very Baby Simply Night to try for a while - they are hard to come by as only one wahm is licenced to sell them in Australia. Now we have one! It has so many layers of hemp I doubt bub can out wee this one. I also use Dream Eze and a Huggle. I have another night nappy coming called Sandman. We use a wool cover and bamboo to boost in between.

Finished

by RachallComment Published at 02:0902:091 comments1 comments154 Visits154 VisitsReport

I have finally finished my first one-size fitted nappy!! It is perfect other than needing more padding to keep the pee in better. Josh tested it out and it only lasted about one hour and a half, but it is pretty good for a first time effort and for someone who hasn't sewn for about ten years Razz.

Tango Av!

This my bub in a new nappy. I was the first customer!
It is is a fleece AIO so it needs no cover.
It comes in 3 parts to make for quick drying.
I am not usually keen on AIOs but this one is very interesting.
Can you tell he loves it too! The lil poser!

Nearly done

by RachallComment Published at 23:2023:202 comments2 comments175 Visits175 VisitsReport
I should have my first fitted one-size nappy done by tomorrow or the day after (as Sunday is usually my "do nothing" day). Just have a few more things to do but cannot do them until I get a few supplies I forgot last time. I have also ditched the cloth nappies at the moment as I am having a hard time finding a fold that fits Josh and also contains his wee (I am still using the cloth nappies I used when he was first born). Figured I would save myslef the stress and just hang out for the nappies I am making.
