getting started

Hi there everyone!

I am 32 weeks pregnant, and I really want to use cloth nappies as much as possible.  However, I am finding myself more than a little confused!!  There is virtually nothing available in the shops to have a look at.  I thought that what you needed was a terry/flannel velcro nappy ( of the right size!), a liner, and a plastic pant job that goes over the top.  But it seems that some brands have all this incorporated into 1 nappy.  Please can someone reccommend a brand that doesnt leak/looks funky and isnt going to cost a fortune to get started?

Re: getting started

Hi, it certainly can be confusing can't it! The best way to do it is to buy in bulk to start with. I have 3 different types of cloth nappies - 2 types of pocket nappies and one type of all-in-one - and the best I have found is the Bum Genius as they grow with your baby, they are a pocket nappy so you put the absorbent pad into them & they come with 2 of these - a normal one and a booster. Here's the website so you can have a look. I also like the Baby Beehinds but you have to have different sizes as your baby grows, so it works out dearer. You can find some good deals on all of them on Ebay so that might be worth a look too. I hope this helps & if you have any questions just minti mail me.
