I am an adoptee, who has found he family. Sadly my mother Charlotte, father Ron and brother Warren are all deceased. I met four aunties, lots of cousins and second cousins.
For me finding my biological family answered a lot of health questions and opened doors to others.
I discovered that my mum died of bowel cancer at 39, my father of a cerebal hemorrage at 33 and my brother commited sucide at 19. Wow was that hard to take when I found out. But meeting my maternal grandparents was the greatest gift as they were able to talk to me about my family.
if you are thinking about searching I'd say go for it, some times you get hurt but the medical history you can find out is immense. |
