| Flybabies
Some of us on Minti have discovered the Flylady website to help us develop the skills and strategies to organise our lives and clean our homes. This group is for Minti Flybabies to encourage each other on our path to better organised homes and lives.
We know that sometimes we will slip backwards and that is ok. We are all here to encourage each other and share our successes and stumbles.
I found Flylady after reading Frontier's article Getting Things Done a bit at a time. A few weeks later I was inspired to write Let the Flylady help you get organized to cruise through Christmas. Through these articles other members also found Flylady and the suggestion was made to start this group.
Since this group was started another member has written a great article on adapting the Flylady's advice
If you are interested in joining please check out the website and sign up to recieve the yahoo emails.

Hello All,
I have been a fly baby for about a year and a half, I am new to minti so I was pleasantly suprised to find this group. I have eight year old boy/girl twins and a nine month old boy also. Needless to so, I was flying along quite nicely until number three came along. Since then my house has been thrown back into chaos and just when i think i'm getting ontop of things my routines gets changed and it all goes out the window. I think the main problem is that I spend a lot of time out of the house so when i get home i am so exhausted that i either don't have the time to get everything done or just too tired to do it.
Anyway, i'd like to know if anyone has a young baby and if they have managed to get their house under control? Can you offer me any advice?
I get the emails from flylady, but they're always a day behind. Do you just do it that day and adjust youtr control journal likewise?

My last entry somehow vanished and now I must write it all over again. Oh how I wish I would have saved it. I usually do my posts in One Note and then do the copy past but for some reason that does not work on Mozilla all the time. Anyhow. I was writing about how glad I am to have found this group because it makes it more real and I feel very accountable now.
It's alot different when you are only receiving and email reminding you to work the steps but having something that is somewhat in "real time" puts, more a less, a set of eyes on you. I have a new outlook on things and feel so much more happy. I want to write in my journal/blogs alot more now and I feel connected again.
I appreciate that you all are here and look forward to sharing my successes with you as well as my failures (setbacks). I feel like wearing my shoes again hee hee. Today I did all of the laundry so that I could start with a fresh slate and I did the dishes several times so that there was not a mountain of them to do in the evening.
My daughter usually has the chore of doing the dishes, her only other chore is to take out the trash and maintain her space. I think all children should learn to do chores otherwise they might not end up self sufficient. I have seen too many adults in the region I live now that, unless they are women, incapable of even doing something as simple as folding a shirt. I had even heard of a woman that was still feeding her son. He was like 30. I was like what???
Anyhow, to each his own I guess but still I am ready to equip my children with the Fly Lady Concept and hope that it carries over with them into adulthood. Wow, what a ramble. Bottom line, because I feel this blog is somewhat more real than just my emails I get from the Yahoo Group, I feel more supported than just the hug from the shining sink. Don't forget to wear your shoes and drink your water ladies. Get up and go go go. It really does feel so good to be fully dressed in the morning and ready to take on the world one load of laundry at a time. Look forward to hearing from you. Oh before I go, has anyone purchased the FlyLady Products? If so, which ones did you get and how are they working for you? Thanks again and tons of hugs from me.
Have a wonderful MONDAY!!
Sincerely,
Aaliyah |

I have managed to keep up with the shiny sink thing and working on my hot spots. I am really pleased with this, esp when i came home after a week away and my sink still looked beautiful which just made the rest of my - now clean and tidyily organised - kitchen look great when we got back - always nice to come home to a clean and tidy house!!
Peace

Hi Everyone,
I must say that I was happy to find this group here. I actually was not even looking for it, it just turned up on the in the tags when I was doing a search on recipes. Pretty neat I think. I look forward to getting to know you and hope we can all help each other along the way. Thanks for starting this group as a means of support because sometimes I feel so isolated with no one to help me get through those tough days when I feel like chaos is around the bend. Take care and have a wonderful day. |

I'm looking for a weekly routine! Anyone have one they'd like to share with me as an example. Or morning and bedtime!! I just feel like I'm always behind and then when I do have a spare moment I forget what I wanted to do (preggo brain). I need to write it all down, but I need something that's not overwhelming so anyone. . . .anyone. . . . |

Somewhere along the way (sometime around the time I had my first baby) I became obsessed with routines. I had been looking everywhere for help/advice on how to manage my housekeeping and that's when I found the Flylady!! A lot of what she said sounded great and I was raring to go, but with a toddler and the fatigue of pregnancy, it just wasn't working. I know I don't have explain this to any of you. And , I did get annoyed with those emails too.
Anyhoo . . . . . I am sooo GLAD I FOUND YOU!!!! I've only just begun, but somewhere around here someone has an example spelled out of thier routine right!!!? Now, if I can just get that to coordinate with my toddler's routine (thanks Clay) and be able to find time to get out ot the house once and a while. I'll be all set -- of course about that time (may) the baby will be here. Ah well, you gotta start somewhere, right??

Hi
Well guys i am a back slidden flybaby after jsut a few days......
The sink is still shiny
The benches are once again covered with today's groceries and misc items but i have cleaned my pantry and can see what is in it once again....and 2 of my cupboards are clean and tidy inside......
I have a major problem though with one of her conditions.....
I cannot stand shoes on.......i love bare feet......i don't care what she says it represents I am not wearing shoes........my feet get too hot in shoes...maybe in winter it might be a good idea but unless I am going outside i usually don't even wear slippers in winter.....
I like my feet and toes free......
As for getting dressed that creates more washing hahahahahha
Although I did notice this week that my teenage daughter was sitting around in her nighty at 2pm in the afternoon....gee this irked me...why i don't know because that is usually me anyway....i love my comfortable t shirt nighties
I also noticed my baby daughter was still in her pj's too....i really have set a trend haven't i
Ah well tomorrows a new day and I may jsut introduce myself as a new Flybaby lol......
2 steps forward 3 steps back
Oh but I did get rid of 25kgs of rubbish lol.....well I will as soon as we take the overflowing mobile rubbish/wheelie bin they call a Toyota Hiace Van to the dump.....
and actually empty it.......

Hey there,
I've been a FLYbaby for about 4 and a half years. Still fumbling to get those wings-a-flapping. But I'm not giving up. Had it down pat until I went back to work outside the home.
Have to say though, we're better than we were. I live by the mantra "declutter-declutter-declutter". And I find the benefit is that now I don't buy stuff because I now see it as clutter before I buy it. And it comes off in layers. What was a keeper is now clutter. Anyway I'm rambling.
Are you doing the back to basics or starting out? And have any of you joined your regional Flying groups? Just trying to get a handle on where everyone is at.

I promise that I am not trying to cheat guys, but I am gonna take some time out. Until the end of this month I am gonna continue with what I have got so far, and start reworking my personal routine so that I am better able to cope and conserve energy. Also, Ineed to start caring for myself more, and need to start cleansing my face every day. Something that fell by the wayside with the end of last year and all the tiredness and busyness and things happening. So I am gonna use these next couple of weeks to get things in order, but maintain what I have already learnt as well, so that those good habits continue.
I hope that those of you who were re-inspired with the advent of the new year are still doing well.
Peace

Shiny sink, shoes on, no nasty 'voices' yet, and hot spots being spotted. I am taking this real slow so that i keep the habits i like and adapt the others to things that I can actually achieve realistically in my little perfect world of happiness. Tomorrow I have some serious research to do and some filing, then I can continue my hotspotting in all seriousness, but the filing must be done if I am to actually get further than where I am now... To do a few minutes of filing would be ludicris around here.
Am looking forward to moving on with this, still have loads to sell, may sort some of it on tuesday after my appt while mum is here to help me place the first ad.
Hope you all have a fruitfula nd fulilling week of fFLYing
Peace
