My husband just came out from saying good night to our 3.5yo son Jacob. He walked in and said 'Hey there matey' and Jacob's quite serious reply was 'don't say that daddy we're not on a ship'!
He comes out with some great jokes sometimes. Anyone else got some budding comedians in their house? |

I'm doing this because I'm currently sitting here watching the original 1949 Batman and Robin series on DVD and it's bringing back some fond memories of watching re-runs of the series as a child, along with a lot of other superhero TV shows, movies, cartoons, and reading the comic books!
So I dare to ask:
1. Who was your favourite superhero as a child?
2. Were there any superhero's you didn't like and why?
3. Did you want to be a superhero when you grew up?
4. Did you ever dress up as a superhero and pretend to save the day?
I'll be fair and give my answers:
1. Spiderman - like that is any surprise. LOL
2. Superman - like yeah right, putting on a pair of glasses and acting geeking was really going to be a great disguise! It was just daft!
3. I was going to be Spiderwoman, of course! But my costume was going to be red, black, and silver; rather than red, blue and black like Spiderman... what is scary is that I could still re-draw the design I had planned even now. LOL
4. I don't know where it is anymore, but there is (or once was) in existance somewhere a photograph of me with my face painted as Spiderman when I was a child. I can recall deliberately teaching myself to climb anything (much to my mother's horror) - be it a tree, pole, wall, fence, chain or rope, I could and usually would climb up it if given the chance. I studied every spider and web I saw intensely, all in getting ready for that elusive day when I'd be old enough and strong enough to become Spiderwoman! PMSL
Obviously, I wasn't the typical little girl that was into Barbie dolls who adored Superman and wanted to be Wonderwoman. LOL
Very curious about what everyone else here thought of superheros as kids. Bare in mind though, not all superheros need be Marvel Comics characters, Dangermouse and Bananaman qualify as well - OMG now I'm really showing my age! |

She still has a young mind but how do you keep that inocence when her friends are so much older in the mind the questions she comes home with is mind blowing. My advice to parents with younger children is realise how precious thiere innocence is and treasure it. She will always be my baby and whatching the baby slowly leave is hard I love her dearly. Anyone out there with teenagers contact me andy advice is appreciated lol |

I am very, very new to Minit. It looks like a really neat site and a fun place to be. My husband and I adopted 3 brothers last year. We love them as if they were born to us. I hope to have lots of fun here and meet lots of new friends. |

If you could invent one thing (parenting related) to make your life easier/less frustrating, what would it be?
For me, it would be wet wipes that dispense ONE at a time, with ONE hand, from the top to the bottom of the pack, at the speed you need when facing one of those nappies! Oh, and they would be child-proof, so little people couldnt empty the pack when my back is turned!
So, what annoys you regularly, that needs a brilliant solution? |

What is the one (or two) thing that your husband/partner does that you really appricate?
For me it is 2 things, my partner get up of a w/end and lets me sleep in.. he also gets up during the night sometimes.
When I come home from work approx 10pm my partner always opens the front door for me and greats me with a big hug and kiss, I really love that!
So what does he/she do that you really appricate? |

Was b/f Krystana this morning when I remembered someone telling me that they thought it strange that I fed her from both breasts in one feed. ie, she'd finish one side and I'd offer her the other side. Was wondering how many of you lovely peoples, who breastfed, just fed from one side each feed and how many used both sides in a single feed?
For those who fed from one side each feed did you swap breasts per feed - ie, first feed = left breast, next feed = right breast, then next feed = left breast.......... etc? Did you have to feed them more frequently? |

Mine are illpics.com and blingcheese.com. I have a bit of a hobby looking for cute glitter or funny cat pics. What's your faves and what do you look for the most?? Oh, and I've discovered generators! Does anyone else get into these??

Today is a day I really despise. Bed making day. I hate having to change the sheets simply because I loathe making the bed. The thing is I have a queensize bed and Grub has a double bed. And being winter there's all the dang blankets to tuck in as well.
So todays wish is for a Bed Making Fairy. How about you? What kind of Fairy would you like? |

Each week i can't miss an episode of Project Runway Australia and Top Chef. I love them, i have never really been into reality tv like BB or Idol, but i love these two shows!
I also like sex and the city and nip tuck for my soapie fix. |

I usually get wrapped up in the hype of it all....
I love the swiming, any sort of horse riding, the gymnastics, shooting, and I really love to watch the athletics.
Love finals, hate the heats. |

Does anyone else have certain things that are on the table EVERY night? What's typical at your house? Here it's:
Rice and beans!
A salad, usually tossed with oil and vinegar.
Some kind of meat dish in a tomato type sauce if my husband is cooking; a bit more variety if it's me. Ie, not always tomato, and I use the oven more than he does.
What time do you eat dinner? The kids eat earlier, but we usually eat at around 10 p.m. |

I'm new to this site, and I love it! My only question so far is this, are there any other single mothers that frequent this site? I would love to swap advice and/or support. I think it is extremely important to bond together, for many reasons!
I have also created a Single Mothers group so that it will be easier to find. In no way do I mean to exclude you non-single mothers out there :) advice/support is good from any and all angles! |
