Dirty Jobs

by tamismithComment Published at 14:1814:1810 comments10 comments107 Visits107 VisitsReport

I also love that show about Dirty Jobs.  I let my kids watch it so they'll see why its important to stay in school so they can get a good job.  Theres nothing worse than having a life where you  have to work at aa dirty job that  doesn't allow you to make enough money to let you pay off your credit cards and which forces you to live in a bad neighborhood and drive a cheap used car the rest of your life.  But hey - we all need to start somewhere and I've certainly had my share of dirty jobs.

The dirties jobs I ever had:

1) Fry cook for taco bell

2) Termite repair work. Having to crawl under houses with bugs and spiders and dig enough dirt out by hand to do a foundation raise.

3) Dishwasher in a Restaurant.

Re: Dirty Jobs

If it were not for you repairing what the termites have done then people would have a hell of a time living in their house. Well done...

I used to fit snow chains on cars during the winter season and fill up their cars with gas while I was at it.. And if not needed doing that I'd cook them burgers.. But not before I washed my hands...

Re: Dirty Jobs

I don't think I've ever had that dirty of a job. But we have that tv show in Australia as well. One of the TV Presenters for that show went to India to work with Elephant Handlers/Carers. It was.... really amusing, but I really felt sorry for her. The Elephant farted while she was walking behind it, and you could see these poo remants flying out and it her face. I hope she asked for a steep pay rise!!

Re: Dirty Jobs

Dirty job's eh!!

I worked for a company that built installed and serviced septic systems, oh yeah but i make 1500 a week, and drove a company car, ok it was a van, but still i had all the fuel paid for me, and i could use it for personal use, and to tell you the truth it was one of the best jobs i've had, only drawback was i went home stinking everyday.

Sorry for killing your theory

I cleaned the bathrooms in the college dorms.  Girls are pretty dirty.

Re: Dirty Jobs

But most of them scrub up alright. LOL

Seriously though I know where you are coming from...my daughter used to spend an eternity in the bathroom and always seemed oblivious to the ruin that she made of it.

Re: Dirty Jobs

Mixing chemicals for crop dusting companies.

Did this for a while but started to get a rash on my arms when I changed the oil in my car so that was the end of that...Good money but money isnt everything.

Re: Dirty Jobs

Nice to hear someone else say that! Health and happiness over dollars any day for me. That might explain why I'm broke, but I'm happier now than I was when I was earning good money that's for sure.
