any job in the world? what would you be?

by KristenComment Published at 17:4917:4945 comments45 comments57 Visits57 VisitsReport

I think I'd like to be a fishing captain in Alaska.  Although now that I think about it, it sounds like a lot of work and very cold.  lol

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

Other than being a mum, if I had the opportunity, I would love to be a criminologist and forensic psychologist.  Yes, they are different, one  looks at the social aspects and criminal minds and the other looks at the evidence and uses that for probabilties.  Combine the 2 and you have an unbeatable criminal profiler.

That job combined with writing my own books and stuff would be great, and seeing as much of the time, I'd be reading reports etc and could do much of the work from home, I'll have a hobby farm.

Combine it all together and I sooo need to win lotto! lol.  Yeah, knowing that I am helping to keep my kids safe at the same time as teaching them about sustainable agriculture practices sounds really good.

Right....I little weird I must admit but if it is a dream job that you aspire to do I can understand. Just not quite my cup of tea but isn't that why we are all so different in the first place.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

I have two if that's allowed..... I would love to go and work in third world countries..... My aim is to get Bangladesh. It's been a life long dream of mine since I was about 9. It's something I knew I was put on this planet to do. The pay is usually zilch but to me the rewards are endless. Number 2 for me would be an author. I love writing and after my time helping the poverty stricken I would love nothing more than to spend some time in Tuscany (my dream holiday) and WRITE!!! Now all I need to do is win lotto to fund all of this hehe

It would be a real buzz to help other less fortunate than ourselves. The satisfaction alone is payment enough.

Never know the police could call you out to a fishing boat to deliver a baby...Just a thought.

Really though, I love the whole charter thing, sun surf and the open air sound attractive to me.

Now I'm up for that one. Travel to different worlds...what an experience.

Although Dr. Who seems to have some fun from time to time so I would trade places for a day with him.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

I already have the best job in the world...  I am mum...

Ok it is underpaid and often very stressful and I wonder why I wanted to do it sometimes... But I it has been like that with all of my employment..

I like this job the best and would never give it up...  :)

And just quietly it sounds as if you are doing a fine job.

Many stay at home mums/dads do not get enough credit for what they do but the truth of the matter is that they really are the mainstay of THE FAMILY.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

I wanted to become G4...

My father was G3...  Meaning with out last name as Gore, I would have been the forth Police officer in our family.. Tried twice but failed each sitting by one point (Which by the way is soooo dam annoying the first time imagine twice).

Anyway after taking two tests you have to wait a year before you go for the third...  I decided to take a trip and take the test again when I got back.. And I never did...

But I have heard it has changed a lot since I first wanted to join. And that police officers of today have a different attitude to the job... I read somewhere that one police officer actually said he does not get paid to get shot at...  I hate to say it but isn't that a danger of the job. If you are afraid of that risk why join?

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

Don't let your previous failings stop you from doing what you feel passionate about. You sound like just the sort of person that should be in law enforcement.

Discover your dreams.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

I wanted to be, but I have a new job now.. :) Mum... :)

I still enjoy watching, reading anything about the police side of things, and have a great respect for those that actually do their job...

But of late after all the crap I have heard over the past few years, people not doing their jobs, bullies..  Etc...

I figured my mum job is the better one... :)

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

I wanted to be a graphic designer when I left school but the only art college was 70 miles away and I didn't want to leave home to go to a strange city at sixteen. Never mind.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

Graphic Design is a whole new world now with the introduction of powerful computers into our homes.

You could probably research on the internet and teach yourself so long as it doesn't take you too far away from Minti. LOL

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

Is it really too late to learn?

There are plenty of people out there that are financially challenged enough to let you practice on them for free. I would put my hand up anytime for a free haircut or the like.

Get a bit of practice and do it from home or do an adult trainieship.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

From the age of 12 i wanted to be a criminal psychologist. However, now that i am a Mum, i doubt that i would like to know about most of the nasties out there in the world. I like my happy bubble at the moment.

So now i guess the one thing i would love to do is probably some form of councelling. Maybe troubled teens, or drugs and alcohol.

Re: any job in the world? what would you be?

It surely would take a strong person to take that type of dedication to help those in the community that are struggling already.

I think it could be quite rewarding.
