Re: ur wedding horror stories

My mother was diagnosed with kidney failure about 3 weeks before my wedding (first).  She was in hospital until the day before my wedding.  Had to make a scarf to match the tiny dress (because she was so thin she looked like skin and bones) i got her for the wedding to cover the dialysis catheter hanging out of her neck. She had to be in a wheel chair at the wedding.  Cancelled my honeymoon for fear she would die while I was away.  Turned out she lived for a month after my wedding...

but on a positive note, she was there, saw me get married, and stood as I came down the aisle.

Aw heck Angela, your poor Mom and poor you!  I bet that she was very happy to have made it to your wedding, regardless... You must have had such mixed emotions on this day, and I am sure your Mom did too. xox

She was probably even happier that there was no pav throwing slap up punch outs, Jerry Springer style too!

Re: ur wedding horror stories

Let me tell you, she loved Jerry Springer...she loved those talk shows!  But was thrilled none of that crap happened at our wedding.

I'm just happy she got to be there.

Re: ur wedding horror stories

Gosh, don't you have your passport, or your original birth certificate or a driver's licence or photo credit card to use as i.d.?  It is so hard to prove that you are YOU now days. LOL xox

Re: ur wedding horror stories

My passport is New Zealand issued and more than 3 years expired! lol. My birth certificate is New Zealand issued, and because of that, they require even more id to prove who I am.  My mum is just being stubborn, but I am working on getting the info I need straight from immigration, but I have been waiting about 6 months for a reply!

Re: ur wedding horror stories

Have you been in touch with the NZ consulate?  They may be able to arrange an up to date passport for you if you get a stat dec signed to say who you are and send it in with the originals.

Re: ur wedding horror stories

Yeah, I could, but I need photo graphic id to do that too! rofl I'm in catch 22 here!  Can't even get my kiwi passport renewed until I can prove who I am, other than with my birth certificate!  lol. Oh, and being a kiwi means that my certificate came from New Zealand.

GGGRRRR My parents suck sometimes!  I'm sure she is like this to have some control over me, and she knows that I can't do anything without the certificate.

Re: ur wedding horror stories

I have a very horrible wedding story, well my whole wedding was a nightmare.

1st a close friends killed himself a week before my wedding. so i had a funeral the day before my wedding.

I had heckling during my hubbys wedding speach, I was in the loo and I heard ppl gossiping that they didnt know why i was marrying Chris as he hit me, (it was actually his brother who got beaten up from his now ex the night before our wedding), i was 4 months pregnant so we had all the "shot gun wedding" jokes yet we had to cancell our wedding that we had planned the following April. i got food poisioning which was not good. Our food was awful. My sister in law had Phenonia so she made me a hour and a half late to my wedding. ppl were telling chris i had bailed.  the friend who did the photo's didnt wind the film on and we lost 100 photo's that were great. so i dont have wonderful photo's

My dad told me that a friend had sex at a hotel and they went back and turned on the Blue movie channel and saw himself and his wife so i was scared to get undressed at the hotel.

OH and as i was getting ready I had my mother telling me it wasnt too late to bail and get a abortion.

And there is more...........

PLEASE someone beat that cause I hate my wedding. the only thing that was good was the service and that i am married to the love of my life.

Oh and I just remembered, I got married 3 days before 9/11 So we are forever to be reminded that our wedding is so close to something so horrible

Re: ur wedding horror stories

huni, have another wedding.  Just something simple and intimate, leave out the trouble makers! lol.  les and I are having a quiet wedding, probably just our family, but it is more for the girls that we are doing it for, so they don't ask where wedding photos etc are.

It doesn't have to be the whole 9 yards, and simple is easy and effective!

Re: ur wedding horror stories

That's a good idea, you should check out the dates and lock it in... Then you will have heaps of time to design your dream dress and be whatever size you want.

Re: ur wedding horror stories

Mine was one of micks best mates decided to have a pavola fight, and hit my aunt straight in the face, and also rubbed it over my breasts.. It took my dad, mick, and my mum to hold me back so i wouldnt punch this guy in the head.. My best mate ordered this guy a taxi and sent him on his way, and 12 years later i still wouldnt acknoledge this guy, even that mick says hi to him when we see him out and about...

Hells bells, has it put you off pavlova?  Maybe you should go to one of his parties and pop a pav on his head for old times sake.

Got to make you wonder if he wasn't a kiwi! lol.  Last I heard, the pavlova was still considered New Zealand's dessert of choice!
