Arrgghhh why do kids make it sooo hard for me and my hubby in the morning. My 2 boys are in yr 5 and 3. Today it wa the 9yr old to muck up. First he wakes up at 4:30am cause he is hungry! I told him to make some breaky then go back to bed. YEAH RIGHT. After trashing my kitchen he then puts the tv on and turns it up fullblast. After i drag my tired butt out of bed I turn it down anddo a quick tidy up of the kitchen I tell him to go back to bed before he wakes the baby up. (8 weeks old) Again he ignores me and turns on the playstation gets the s"*&s as hubby has hidden the control cords. Now it is 5am and he is having a massive screaming match with me. I did my best to shut him up and ended up giving up and turning tv on (only so he wouldnt wake up the neighbourhood and the rest of our family)I went back to bed HUGE MISTAKE. When I got up at 7ish to do school stuff I walk into the lounge room to find that a human Cooper tornado has gone through my house! I have eggs cracked open and stuck to everytrhing as he tried to make scrambled eggs and cornflakes. Sugar is all over the floor and milk all over the bench and cornflakes all on the table. The lounge room is covered in bloody lego and dvd's are pulled out everywhere!. I know he has ADHD but jezz give me a break. So after my hubby ironed the clothes and I made the lunches it is the fun battle of "LETS GET IN THE CAR". He is now extremly tired and informs me that he is not going to school because he wants to sleep! Well tough luck kido you are going to school. He then takes of running around the backyard front yard so I cant catch him. Doing all this with a huge smile on his face!!!!! By this stage I have just about got steam coming out of my ears. He then runs of down the street with me screaming at him and chasing him. (Neighbours must think I am a freak!) In the end I gave up and got in the car with my other son (10) as I am reversing Coop thinks it would be a good idea to run behind me..thank god I was only going snail pace and had afeeling he was going to do that. His father said either get in the car or i gonna through your dogs (toy ones) in the bin!. Coop though he was bluffing till Gary held up a dog and held it over the bin. So then Coop started crying and got in the car. I havent even changed mind you so of to school I go in my PJ'S. We get there and he starts again I NOT GOING. I told him that if I have to get out of this car in my PJ'S I will not only put your dogs int he bin I will burn the bloody things! He finally got out went to school and no I have peace and quiet till 3pm.
I'm so sorry Kate, but you did make me laugh. I am yet to go through all that but I can just imagine the frustration. I hope they settle when they get home.
Maybe an early night is in order since he got up so early!
I used to hate the school run in the mornings. I was always yelling and there would be tears.I was so over it. Then I decided enough was enough. I had everything organised the night before and by the time they were dressed and fed, it was out the door before they had time to think or do anything else! Still have moments but its a lot better as they get older.
Hope after all that the school doesnt call u to say come and pick him up early.. As if i was u i be ignore the phone, kids they can be buggers at times..
