When I Whine

by NgairiComment Published at 04:4404:440 comments0 comments7 Visits7 VisitsReport

Forgive Me When I Whine

Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair I looked at her and sighed and wished I was as fair. When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle. She had one leg and used a crutch But as she passed, she passed a smile. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine I have 2 legs, the world is mine. I stopped to buy some candy The lad who sold it had such charm I talked with him a while, he seemed so very glad If I were late, it'd do no harm. And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind. It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.  Later while walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue She stood and watched the others play It seemed she knew not what to do. I stopped a moment and then I said, "Why don't you join the others, dear?" She looked ahead without a word. And then I knew, she couldn't hear. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have 2 ears, the world is mine. With feet to take me where I'd go.   With eyes to see the sunset's glow. With ears to hear what I would know. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

if i raised my child again

by pavementcracks70Comment Published at 02:5302:532 comments2 comments26 Visits26 VisitsReport
If I raised my child again.
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

public services

Public services

Whenever he needs
to listen to Chopin
he calls Telstra.
Of course, he has to call
at different times
to get different bits
of the Polonaise.
He considered buying a CD
but if you calculate closely
you come up with an unnerving result:
for $25 (which is the price of the CD)
you can get 512.5 bits of the Polonaise
for only 40c a call.
If you try at the busiest times
you can wait in the queue up to ten minutes.
Delightful!
Ten minutes of Chopin
poured directly into your ear.
May I help you?
asks a friendly voice all of a sudden.
Yes, he says, please,
any Bach, or Mozart?

poems that i choose off the net too my twins

One plus one is two
and that's the both of you.

Twice as much to love,
two blessings from above.

Two precious lives to mold,
two little hands to safely hold.

God touched our hearts
so deep inside,
our special blessing
multiplied.

Four little hands to guide and to hold.
Two special lives to shape and to mould.
Two little babies are gifts from above.
Two special people to snuggle and love.

For all parents on Minti....

I Took Their Hands and Followed.....
-------------------------------------------------
My dishes went unwashed today,
I didnt make th beds,
I took their hands and followed,
Where their footsteps led.

Oh yes, we went adventuring,
My children and I,
Exploring the great outdoors,
Beneath the summer sky.

We waded in a crystal stream,
We wandered through the wood,
My kitchen wasnt swept today,
But life was happy and good.

That house was neglected,
That i didn''t dust the stairs
In twenty years No-one on Earth
Will know or even care.

But that i helped my children
To Noble adults grow,
In Twenty years, the whole world,
May look and see and know...

take care

The Embrace

by Practical-PrincessComment Published at 23:2023:200 comments0 comments20 Visits20 VisitsReport
THE EMBRACE

 Echoes of pain

Resound in the heart

Tears of yesterday

Have left their mark.

The hardened heart

Can take no more

She does not want

Another fall.

Can she trust again?

Can he be true?

Can the heart

Start anew?

A tentative step

Into his arms

Falling, slowly

For his charms.

The embrace, so loving

A new love has began

The heart can heal

And love again.
