Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!! It was fun and busy here and the weather has been interesting!! Blazing hot with high humidity and crazy storms through the weekend. Today looks more settled and looks like a lovely day ahead! Hope everyone has a great week. |

Another young man is travelling the route from Trenton to Toronto. There on the overpasses are those who choose to show honour to this fallen son. I so feel for the families, such sorrow, unbearable. I can't imagine the pain of being so proud for going and following orders and trying so very hard to improve the life of the peoples of the middle east. This is the anniversary of D-day when Canadians gave so much to the war effort. I can't help but feel that we have given enough, lost so very much and it is past time to call all sons and daughters home. The loss of each son and daughter of Canada depletes this land just that much more as these are so valued people. My heart hurts for the Mom's, Dad's,Spouses and children that have given far too much. Dear Captain Leary I mourn your passing and I wish it was so different for you and your family. |

In todays world were it is so hard to find employment that offers decent pay and benefits we get hit with the news from General Motors this morning that even more families will not have this. Hard news to hear. The work force here in Oshawa has given the highest quality output for years but the cuts are happening. The news was of a complete plant closure. We have seen the cuts for the past year cutting the work force in half and now heading for 3/4!!! The effects of this will spread to the second tier suppliers and the shops and malls will feel it too but what is so worrisome is were will it end? Were in the future will our kids find work? The standard of a university education is no longer enough. Masters were working on the line at G.M. and now those jobs are going. The days of a job that was secure and had benefits are going...so well may be our standard of living. |

Finally it reached 20C, after 8 straight days of rain it was a very welcome change. |

I'd like to send good vibes to those along the St John river area and hope that the waters go down soon. That must be so very terrible and my heart goes out to those in New Brunswick affected by the severe flooding. Hoping for the best |

I am wondering if Spring is here...the temperatures are still not very high, below 10C, but a few flowers are struggling to life...the icebergs have arrived so I guess Spring is here it just doesn't feel like it yet, that's all! |
