And that is what we did today. Remember things given up, too large for us to understand. We thank and honour those who stood for our freedom and way of life. There is never enough thanks and it will always be remembered. |

Almost Halloween! Yikes, were does the year go??? We are getting Fall weather, windy, rain and have had our first freeze. I am thinking that maybe this winter will be long and cold.....weeeee? Where is my usual excitement for winter gone????? |

Well here we are already into fall. My daughter now lives in Alberta and I am still missing her. She still is without her stuff which makes settling in rather tough. I hope we all are prepared for winter this year, for some reason I am not looking forward to it at all and I usually am so excited about winter?!? Maybe old age creeping up on me? Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, I notice we are getting less and less light! Dark earlier in the evening and dark later in the morn....argggg??? Maybe it is the thought of going out to buy a new snow shovel, mine is worn out. |

A other sad day when two men returned home to Canada with the trip down the highway. We saw the people so sad waiting to pay respects to our fallen men. Just breaks your heart. |

|
An other young man coming home to ride the final ride. My heart goes out to his loved ones. So, so very sad. |

Politics....blah humbug. SO, so much wrong here in Canada with our leaders. DO they reflect us in any way? I sure to heavens hope not. Speaking of heavens! We will in two days have a docking at the International Space Station that will see one Canadian greet an other ! Two Canadianns on the ISS!!!! How very exciting! I watched the launch last night around 6pm and after 5 failed tries it went off perfectly! Soaring to the heavens, what a sight. However. It was noted that the aging ship lost a lot of parts, falling off in the force of launch. If the wars were stopped there would be excess money to reach for the stars with more safety. Now these people that forward the front of science deserve merit far more than some self serving alleged public servant ( public servant??? LOL!). |
| |
|
Chretien??? Chretien is to recieve the honour of merit? He is to stand with the 24 others that have been so honoured. His list of reasons he is not worthy of this honour is long but start with grabbing a protester around the neck and shaking him, ordering troops to shoot at the people of Canada murdering one, his finacial dealings using his companies that where not at arms length. Sad. Maybe this is not the proper forum but for heavens sake. Being well off and avoiding charges seems to lead to honour. Honour is in the average people that have laid down their lives for Canada and work every day to make it a better place. He even hid behind his wife when someone broke into their place... Honour??? I so think not. Just as bad as Conrad Black still having the order of Canada. Come on!!! Canada deserves better! |

O Canada!
Official Lyrics
(English)
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
(French)
O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix.
Ton histoire est une épopée,
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

I do love Canada but I think there is a huge wrong here. I feel that your average Canadian is so worn out providing an existance that we truely figure there is no way to be heard. I think our decades of totally corrupt government has demoralized us to the point where we actually think when wrongs are done... oh well, what can I do. In actuality this is correct, what can we do? We are in a state where to complain about a wrong you face a lot. It should not be this way. For example, decisions to tax go through and our only choice is to vote them out next time round? In the wrost down turn of finances ever Ontario has gone ahead and increased the taxes dramatically!! What can we do? Nothing, it is a done deal. We are one of the highest taxed nations and there is no end in sight. I want and need some honest and responsible government. |

Summer has hit! I hope everyone is enjoying some time outside. I keep reminding myself that winter will come soon enough and be long but the humidity is crazy! Sunday was the worst, even the rain didn't clear it and today is bad too! So, now I have done the " Canadian Complaining About The Weather Thing", how is everyone doing? |

Another fine young man not coming home to his family. Lost in a war not of his making but there trying to protect others. My heart breaks for his family. So very sad. |

We have lost an other fine young Canadian. Naming a road, Highway of Heroes just isn't enough. |

Well, here we are entering the second week of June, and the leaves aren't quite out yet. But the ditches are almost dry. What a strange year for our Great Canadian Weather! It is so dry... I just checked and today the number of fires is on par with last year, but still above the 10 year average. The last time I checked it was more than double both those numbers... But the rain and the cold must be good for something! I'm still concerned it will be a hot dry one... Dangerously hot and dry.
But maybe I'm just... or maybe not. |

I am happy to annouce a brand new Canadian, born 5:30 pm June the forth at 7 pounds 8 oz!! Lucas is here!!! And I am excited and get to see him today!!! Weeeeeeheeeee! |

I've noticed something odd in the weather since last summer, and realised this would be a cool place to share it. And I'm wondering if this is happening anywhere else?
The only way I can discribe the weather, is boom-a-rang weather. In the fall, it went from above zero, to -20, then normalised just below zero. In the winter, it was melting for several days in January, before dumping us down to our normal week of -40 to -55 below. And now with spring, it's continued to be warmer than normal and colder (and snowier!) than normal. I'll be doing good to plant my garden this weekend!
I've talked with some of the elders in the community, and don't seem concerned yet don't remember this happening before. To me, it's strange that they're not finding it strange!
Is anyone else alarmed by what's going on? |

O.K., it's June.. we can stop now with the winter weather. Brrrrrr! |

Now this speaks of love of home and Canada. I just read simplyme01ca poem, My Newfoundland. Had to pass this on as it is wonderful. |
