i am fascinated by canada because when my parents migrated to australia in 1955 they had the choice of australia or canada. they picked australia. only because they knew people who settled in australia.

they had no clue of either country it was a fifty fifty decision that could have gone either way. but since i wasnt born or my brother until my parents came to australia if the had picked canada maybe we wouldnt have been born

For sure Annie!!  Canada Day is all across Canada and for our french members ...(like Jess!) Fete du Canada!  July the first is more or less Canada's adopted birthday!!! It acknowledges the forming of Canada,Ontario and Quebec becoming provinces and the adding of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the forming of the country of Canada in 1867!!!  We did not patriate until 1982 so our history is a little different than countries that actually have an Idependence Day!  Our Canada stretches far and wide and includes all people from all around the world within 10 provinces and territories. I love Canada and I happily celebrate her birthday as do most across Canada with fireworks and summer family activities!  There is lots of interesting history that Canada has and lots of interesting things in our history.  Well worth looking into! It actually was the railways that tied Canada together from coast to coast as it inabled travel and communications. I have been west and I have been east to each coast and Canada is filled with wonders and wonderful people.  Each and every area is different and gives so much to the whole that is Canada. Wooo,I better stop my book and just say it's a great place,has it's ups and downs but is basically one of the better places to be in this big old world!!!
