I love the way that a pet can bring so much love into a family .
Not only that but how they become part of the family.
This is one of ours.
His mother decided to give birth on a Sunday so the vet charged 25% extra and the poor little thing needed a ceasar and a hysterectomy...so $628.10 later we named him Bugga (little kids can call him Bug)

To make my story short.................................. We have an old 18 to 19 year old male but neutrued and no claws. A month ago a stray adopted us and now HE is also fixed and declawed. The old cat does NOT want new cat in the house. We are trying to be patient BUT the old cat howls like a coyete and last night kept the whole house up all night.
UGH! |

In the that's life magazine this week there is a campaign against animal cruelty. I have just been to the website www.bleats.com.au. A group of lawyers is fighting to get tougher sentences to people that abuse animals. I have just signed the petition which took a very short time to do. Just click on Support tougher sentences for animal cruelty. I hope they get the law changed. Some of the stories are heart-breaking. Thanks. |

....who let us foster a beautiful dog Max. We will miss him but it was a fun experience though I must say messy. I am still finding his hair everywhere. I don't know if I can do it again. It was a lot of work. I am actually enjoying the break but I will remember him and hope he has a great life. |

The association of Crocodiles and Man is known for a long time. Ancient Egyptians worshiped crocodile-god. Sometimes they hunted crocodiles, and visualize them as a protector and source of pharonic power. No doubt when you think of a crocodile as your pet you might be wondering if it will work out.
According to Herodotus, in 5th century BC some Egyptians kept crocodiles as pampered pets. In Sobek's temple in Arsinoe, crocodile was kept in the pool of the temple, where it was fed, covered with jewelry, and worshipped. When crocodiles die, they were embalmed, mummified, placed in sarcophagi, and then buried in a sacred tomb. Many mummified crocodiles and crocodile eggs have been found in Egyptian tombs.

I finally got round to naming my new gold fish the other day. I decided on Google. Well, google ain't with me anymore. i put a new airstone in the bowl and up she went! Now I just got bit! lol. Poor thing, the bowl is way too big for him! lol.
Guess I should have left well enough alone, but I had to baby my fish! lol |

This is our favourite guarddog Bobby, he is such a sweety, with a rather scary bark! He is about 5 now but is still just a puppy at heart!

This is my darling old cat Mystique. She is getting on now, she would be 10 this year! She is a cheeky little thing that loves sleeping on our bed when Daniel isnt home! |

Why is it that my fish won't eat until I talk to them? I put the food in and they just swim there and until i tell them to eat! At least they have manners, unlike my little girls ( at times).
I'm trying to get the software loaded so I can put pics up. Oh, and clean the room up they are in! can't have you thinking I live in a warehouse! lol. |

we are now proud foster carers to this beautiful dog Max until about September. He is such a placid boy and what a great way to have a dog without really having one. I am doing it through the RSPCA. His carer can't take him out of the state until after a court case and she will get him if it is won so he is having a little holiday with us. My son is spoiling him. |

I don’t know if it’s a case of “once you’re pregnant, you see a pregnant woman on every corner” but since we got two baby guinea pigs, I’ve had lots of conversations about pets.
And, if truth be told, many of the smaller ones don’t seem to survive for very long once they leave the pet shop.
For instance..
1) A friend’s cat got hold of their new hamster one night (just a week or so after getting all the pink gear for it) and left its entrails all over the children’s bedroom
2) Another friend has got through two rabbits in quick succession.
One was savaged by a fox which managed to jump into its enclosure, the other escaped only to be killed by the dog next door.
The remaining rabbit seems to have learned nothing from the fates of her former bunny friends and does her best to escape from her run and tries to avoid being locked in her hutch at night.
She hurls herself at the chicken wire that keeps her safe from predators, prompting my friend to complain,
“I don’t like that rabbit’s attitude.”
3) A neighbour bought a guinea pig, was told it was cruel to keep it alone so got another one. He neglected to check its gender, and soon had thirteen of the little beasts turning his lawn into a mini-Somme.
So he took them to an animal rescue centre and left them there after it closed up for the night.
4) A couple I met at a dinner party said they’d succumbed to endless pet-pleas from their daughters and plumped for goldfish, having found they’re easy to look after and don’t live for long.
Unfortunately though, every time they went away on holiday they left them with friends.
And every time they returned there seemed to be one or other of the fish looking slightly different from the one they’d left.
So the fish lived on, through their annual replacements, forever.
5) A friend’s nine year old son cheerfully told me that his Dad used to keep mice when he was a child.
“He bred lots of them and tried to sell them at school, but no-one wanted any so Granny drowned them all.”
When I made a face at this, he added, nonchalantly, “it’s a quick death.”

This is my step daughter and Rocky. (It is sad but he had to go before Francis arrived, he was a very jealous of the cat and we could not risk me carrying Francis around in my arms all day with a jealous dog... He was also aggressive to other dogs).. But other then that he was beautiful.. Mind you this photo makes him look evil if you look at his eyes

Cooper has just gone to his new home (or should i say, his breeders)
they were so glad to see him as they got so many people asking when they were breeding more of his kind, and now they have a new stud :)
So im happy he is in the hands of animal lovers who will take such good care of him :)
