I call myself a mommy-come-lately. That's just my fun phrase for a late-in-life mom--a spin-off from the old-fashioned phrase Johnny-come-lately. A Johnny-come-lately was someone who started something late--and who was successful at it. So, a mommy-come-lately is a successful late-in-life mom.

There are two types of mommies-come-lately: first-timers and repeaters. I'm a repeater, like some of you who are straddling the parenring spectrum with a wide-range of kiddos. Others of you are first-timers. Our lives intersect because we're older moms--not that we're old, we just had our children (or some of our children) when we were older. 

The good news is that makes us all trendsetters!!!!!
