getting multiples in and out of the car

This group needs a revival.

Having twins, I found myself thinking about something I haven't thought about before - how do I get them in and out of the car from home? My car is out in the drive way (my garage is full of crap) so when we go out (and we go out everyday because to drive big brother to school) I don't want to buckle one in the car and then go and get the other one. What if someone sees my car open and decide to take my baby?! I know, I'm paranoid. And then there's the heat. If I get one in the car without the key in, while I get the other one, it'll be very very hot in there. But I if I leave the key in, someone can just drive off with the car.

So here's what I've been doing. I have an extra stroller that I have in the garage. I take Thing 1 and put her in the stroller in the garage. And then quickly go back in the house to get Thing 2. With Thing 2, I can go ahead and put her in the car seat while still be within earshot and eye-sight of Thing 1.

Problem solved. I guess if someone really wants to take my car I can't do anything to stop it, but at least I would be able to witness the whole thing.

Good ideas Izzy. Yep, lets start a revival! hehe

I was thinking about the car question the other day too. It's such a pain going back and forth and I worry as well. So far it's always been the both of us taking them out but I did wonder how or if there was a better system. Even now it takes ages to get all organised and everyone strapped in ready to go.

You know what else takes time? when we are all ready to go and have one in the stroller in the garage and I go back in the house to get the other only to find that she's pooped! I have to think about whether to leave the one in the garage while I change the poopie one. The few times it's happened to me, I got the one from the garage and take her back in.
