Jess is in year 8 this year and has been placed in the selective class (ie, the class for the smarty-bums, lol). She really enjoys it. Last year she was bored with the work as she finished it too quickly. Now it's a bit more of a challenge, though she is handling the work very well. She also joined a 'Social Justice Committee'. It's some committee where the kids do things to help the community (their first task when Jess joined was to sell lollipops for the heart foundation).

She still has the attitude, though has settled a bit. I think her being happier in school does help. A book that was recommended to me is a great help - 'The Princess Bitchface Syndrome' by Michael Carr-Gregg. I've mentioned the author and this book numerous times in the minti site - he is a leading pyschologist specialising in the problems of teens. His website is www.michaelcarr-gregg.com.au

The worse time for Jess mood wise is when her period is due. Talk about class A b*** ! lol. When we do get into arguments I usually tell her to go to her room and chill out for a while. Once we've both calmed down, we talk about it.

well iam ready to pull my hair out  what is it with the flippen attitude  omg now its well if you do that to me i will call the police iam like go ahead  its not like i hit all i seem to be doing is yelling  wow when will it stop iam going crazy lol

My lil big reesey.. she's the best help ever..    likes to argue with her father alot.. but those two don't know when to stop..  sometimes its playful an sometimes both of them get carried away..  an that's normal behaviour.. in this house..

it's the holidays an she likes to go out with me to the club to play bingo.. we urge her to go out with her friends but she'd rather stay home.. once in awhile she'll go to the movies with them.. but she doesn't nag me as much as i see around us.. so i'm lucky she listens to me.. she helps with her lil sista an one year old brother too.. helps out around the house as well.. we just love her to bits.

if she needs something or wants to go out we plan to save her some bucks so she can go that week.. these days kids going to the movies take heaps of money.. i can only give her enough... but she's content with that..   so much better for my head.. not that many headaches..lol

Well, I have been reading what you have been writing, and cant see what the problem is. My girl is still acting as a child, and i wonder when she will be start to dress as a young lady. And when i dont have to tell her to take a shower every day.. I was hoping that she could act as a 12 year old instead of like her two younger brothers who is 4 and 5. She is a great girl, but I have to tell her every day to do fill up the dishwasher machine. Even she know it is her job. And she is not the type to not do it because she dont want to. she just forget..

Well I have been very quiet since joining minti so wanted to make a bit of noise.

My Daughter Born 1994 is off to highschool this year but has the attitude since she was 7yrs old.  My Eldest of 3 children, Candice was classed as Gifted on the day of her 3rd Birthday so she has always been above average for her age.  I am seriously not looking forward to the next few years (especially since she is beconing a woman already)  The worst of it all is My 2nd born, Lauren is only 20 months younger and also has an attitude and is beginning puberty.  Thank God I don't have to suffer with that stuff anymore (Depo Injections)

For those of you who haven't seen my profile, my 1994 child is my stepson. Being that I'm only 26, seeing my stepson attend the high school I left less than 10 years ago is causing many of my friends to howl with laughter.LOL! Anyway he's excited and so is his dad, and thats just fine with me!

wow i remember when nikki was born so calm and inicent well now its attititudeand lazy.she came to me with her list for christmas wow do these kids  think that money grows on trees lol well my goodness she wants these boots that are 200 bucks loli dont even have a pair of boots.anyway there is no way shes getting that you no for these teens now its all for brand names ahhh wonder if she would notice if i went and got knock offs.anyway ishes being ok for now cause christmas is  coming but when its all over she wont appriciate a thingbut i love her with all my heart

My son, the eldest of four was born in 1994 and this past 6months has become an absolute nightmare to get along with. I feel like he is still a kid yet he sees himself as an adult. And that would be the basis of most of our arguements. that and the way he treats his younger brothers with utter disregard about 95% of the time.

Have to say though that 1994 seems like just  yesterday  and I still remember  that first nappy change, alone in liverpool hospital. Why doesn't anyone warn you about how dreadful that is??

Anyway I look forward to see how the fellow 1994 babies are going.

Pre teen they tell me it is called when they are 12 hehehehehehehe. Which hand book is that out of???? Tiana was 12 in August and she is no pre teen. She is a full blown teenager. lol She entered into womanhood she keeps telling me it is called but i call it the dreaded monthlies about 6 months ago and ever since then she puts my 13 year old to shame in the attitude department. lol. She is number four in our clan and I wouldn't swap her for the world. Maybe would swap her attitude but hehe. To all parents of "pre teens" goodluck

finally nikki has started he  woman thing wow i feel so bad for her as a mom.i remember  when i started was  not fun,so  her dad  and step mom are lrtting her stay home from school if shes not comfortable with going.lol i disagree so what every month they will let her stay home.i dont think thats right.anyway iam happy for her thats  a step forward in her life.i feel bad for her cause i no what it was like really it was not that bad as i can remember.guess i have to start stalking  up now that i dont have those things in my house,lol had a hystorectomy last year at the age of 30 .so now i know wht her water works flowed so much with a drop of a hat

WOW HOW THE YEARS HAVE GONE BY.I HAVE A 12 YEAROLD TURNING 13 AND WOW WHAT AN ATTITUDE.SOMEDAYS I JUST DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO DO.ITS LIKE WE ARE 2 TO THEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN WERE THEY WERE AT THAT AGE.YOU NO IT WAS WEIRD NOT TO LONG AGO I WALKED INTO THE BATHROOM AND HAD TO TURN AROUND I WAS IN SHOCK.HOLY CRAP I THOUGHT THIS GIRL HAS  IT ALL.WOW OHH WOW.GUES ITS GOING TO BE THE PERIOD THING NEXT.HAHA I HAVE TO LAUFH AT THAT CAUSE I HAD A HYSTORECTOMY  ONE YEAR AGO AND I LOVE IT.SOOO NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO MOOD  WELL SHE ALREADY HAS IT AND DRIVES ME COCO,SORRY JUST RAMBLING ,ANYWAY GREAT GROUP.

This year our kids are 11 going on 21, hehe well mine is.  This is the beginning of the end lol.
