I am an advocate for natural parenting and in particular co-sleeping. I am interested in learning from others who are doing the same as well as supporting the parenting choices of others.

co-sleeping

That is a good question - how long? I believe in self weaning so I say when the child is ready to move on into their own bed. In our house we have more beds than kids yet our 2 older kids sleep in the family bed with dad and I sleep with my baby who is breastfeeding.

supportive of others choices
I love when you say you are an advocate of "supporting the parenting choices of others".
I couldn't agree more.
I am not for co-sleeping myself, however I dont judge people (I hope I dont) that do enjoy co-sleeping.
I cant stand when people tell me I am parenting wrong (as long as what I am doing is safe).

Parenting is the hardest job in the world.

I think parents are always doing their best for their kids whichever way they choose to parent.

It is the hardest job in the world.

As parents don't we all want the best for our kids?

Instinctive Parenting: Co-sleeping

Co-sleeping is part of the idea of instictive parenting or attachment parenting (AP). So there is no prescribed time that you have to do it. You do it as long as it's comfortable for you, the child, the family. It promotes prolonged breastfeeding among other positive consequences.

My husband and I co-sleep with our 15 1/2 month old son. For us, the decision is that Matthew will start to transition to his own bed when we find out we are pregnant with our second child (which we would be trying for by early next year). Some parents co-sleep up to 2 years and beyond. Like I said, it's all up to the family.

Welcome to AP support
Hi, I'm an AP mom of five. We have practiced cosleeping and babywearing with all of our children (including currently with our 3 month old). There's nothing like cuddling up to a little one every night!
