home schooling?????

by kryztynaComment Published at 11:4011:408 comments8 comments490 Visits490 VisitsReport

hello all

I am reading about home schooling and while reading about attachment parenting i found some articles about home schooling. I am really just looking for some real people that home school their children or just some thoughts on the whole idea.

Homeschooling
I wish you all the best. I know lots of children who were home schooled and the only thing the parents were concerned was the social aspect of it. But once they had all their children in various sporting activities that was no longer a concern.  As a single parent, I wouldn't be able to work and home school, or stay at home and be able to pay for home schooling, so it won't be a possibility but it was certainly one I would have been looking into had things been a little different.  Good luck with it all, let us know how it all works out!

AP & HS
hey I home school and AP.  I have 3 girls 6,4,1.  My house is a mess but that is the only draw back.  It is because we live IN IT and it is quite small.
I enjoy my girls and I love doing things with them.  Tonight Maggie 6 said, "Mom look, look"  I could not see what she was talking about.  Then I realized it was the moon and it is a beautiful shade of red.  She thought it was mars and the moon was coming later.  Tomorrow we will investigate why the moon was red.
I think AP and HS must be carried out in the context that we are all human with different needs that must be respected. We will homeschool until our chlidren's educational needs would be better met by someone else.

Nicely put. I too am of the same mind. If my son doesn't get his needs met by the public school system, then I will do what's necessary be it private school or homeschooling.

we have some schools in our area that I am very confident in so we wont be doing homeschooling - but I wish you the best of luck and am guessing both you and your child will have a great time
