hi there everyone seems to be in the same place. I have a 9 yr old that i think thinks she should have privledges of a much older person, between questioning my rules or just whinning about them . I can't complain to much she is usually very respectful and well behaved but when those moments arrive wow watch out the tantrums of "your not fair" and "you dont understand"..it's nice to know there are others with similar issues .

I am so proud of my 9 year old son, we recieved his school report today, and what wonderful results. He is a very popular student, works hard, and is above the benchmark in all his school work for a year 3 student statewide. He may go to a disavantage school as some people say, but the way i look at, ot cant be that bad of aschool if my son is achieving so well in his grade.

Wow I didn't think there were other 9yr olds acting older than there actual age.  I have a daughter who turned 9 in June & has a mind & attitude of a 16 yr old, doesn't like hanging with children her age & prefers to stay indoors & glue herself on the computer all day long....

My daughter turned 9 and the attitude from her. Wow, she 's 9 turning 15. Sometimes she seems to act  like she can't do anything herself, but yet wants an allowance. LOL Not the way she is going about it.  Kids these days!!

My 8 year old teenager!!! omg!

Wow I thought it was only my son acting like a teenager but now I see that it probably is a stage of development since he is not the only one acting rebellious.  I am so glad that I found this site & none too soon lol.  Lately he has been telling me that he is not a little kid anymore & that he is a 'big boy' now...& my response is usually, "Well, you're a MEDIUM BOY NOW "  and he seems to be happy with that.  I guess he is feeling a transition from being 'small' to medium and that's why he is acting rebellious.  He feels that he is ready for new challenges but I also remind him that new challenges mean new responsibilities too lol.  He likes the new freedoms but not the new responsibilities.

8-year-olds

by traceyComment Published at 21:5321:531 comments1 comments391 Visits391 VisitsReport

Is it possible that there are only a small number of us in the whole Minti family that have 8-year-olds?

I'm finding this age to be great in so many ways and challenging in others. I guess that's true of every age. I am thrilled to be seeing my daughter open up socially and spread her wings a little more than she has in previous years. But, that also means that now she wants to "invite a friend "everywhere we go. Which isn't always a bad thing...just new. I'm also getting some major attitude these days. Perhaps a window to the future?? Who knows. Anybody else going through stuff like this?
