Hi, I've just joined; I've a wonderful 13 year old boy!

Hi, I'd love to hear from anyone who has teenage kids. Our son is 13 now, and it's different parenting him now, compared to when he was two or three years younger.  It seems like three years ago he was a kid in year 5...now he's a teen in year 8!  It's great though; they're so more maturer, i.e. the way the think and the things they can now understand.  Anyone know what I mean?

Brilliant! Welcome to the teen years! As a parent of two, former teacher and coach I now spend my days (and nights) talking with parents of teens and tweens who are headed through the middle school and high school years. Take two minutes amidst the chaos this coming week and tune in to Thinking Forward TV for a daily dose of parenting wisdom that will help you navigate the road ahead. Each week I create five videos on a variety of topics related to the teen years. Each video is less than 5 minutes.

My best to you and your family in the days ahead.

Regards,

Joe

Hi, thanks for your comment! Isn't it amazing how the years of our children's lives fly by? It doesn't seem so long ago that my 13 year old son was a baby - and his primary years seem only a little while ago-I remember him on his first day at school!  He's in year 8 now! Your 14 year old is only a year older than ours.  Look forward to staying in touch! God Bless, Carolyn
