Hi all,

I have made a new years resolution...to get my figure back. Before babies pre2003 I was my ideal weight, maybe not fitness level but I was happy. So I have a new years resolution.

First I believe I must have reasons for losing weight.
I also need to set myself some measurable goals..

Without these I am not motivated and won't have the will to succeed!

I want to feel good, look good and know I am healthy inside. I want to know that I can achieve this goal.

1. I want to fit into a new tennis outfit by 22nd Feb (when new season starts)
2. I want to be able to run 30mins without stopping by end of Feb.
3. I want to be at my ideal weight by my daughters 1st b'day - 17/6/06
4. I want to have a healthy eating habit for myself and my family by June

These are just the goals I have set for myself so far, I am sure I will add to them as I think of more.

This is me and I hope this might help others plan their goals

Just wanted to say HI to everyone, thanks for letting me join your group. I lost 16 kgs in the last year on Weight Watchers. Once I got in to the habit of counting points it seemed to flow really well. I actually stopped attending meetings as I really had no time to stay for the meeting part and just paid to weigh in. I stuck to the plan on my own and continued to lose weight, which I was really happy about.

The problem is that about 4 months ago now I hurt my hip at work and now I am on light duties at a desk instead of being in a more active role. I hadn't put any weight back on while I was injured but now I am in that horrible place where it all just seems too hard and chocolate seems soooo EASY!! I don't want to weigh myself but the clothes are starting to tighten up again and I gave all my "fat clothes" to the op shop as there was NO WAY I was going to be big enough to fit them again.

Has anyone else been at this sort of stage???

xxx Cheryl

Hello!

Hi, I'm new to this group, & am also trying to 'battle the bulges'!  Last Monday I started one of those shake diets, where you replace breakfast & lunch with a shake & then have something 'sensible' for dinner.  My hubby is trying the same diet, but with a different flavoured shake! You are supposed to mix the shake with Iced cold water, but I nearly vomitted, it tasted that bad!  After reading the 'small' print on the bottom of the box, that says you can have skim milk instead of water, I'm now having it this way, which makes the taste of the shake a bit more bearable to swallow!

I failed today, I had the 'dreaded' chocolate cravings & gave in!  Oh well, I'll just have to try & be more strict with myself tomorrow. Hope everyone else in this group is having more success than me! RobynM.

Im here to listen and take advice

by gingermugginsComment Published at 22:1422:140 comments0 comments47 Visits47 VisitsReport

Hi

no i havent made a new years resolution to lose weight but after jumping on the scales this morning i noticed i've lost 5 kgs in the last 2 weeks. Why, i do not know but it has given me the incentive to keep losing the weight, and finding this group is an added bonus.

I eat a healthy breakfast in the morning, be it cereal and orange juice, or yoghurt or toast. I never skip brekky.

I sometimes eat lunch but usually i pick at what ever im making for the kids lunch, a slice of cheese, a handfull of sultanas, a slice of meat, anything.

I dont eat tea/dinner. After i cook a meal for the kids and help my youngest eat i dont have the energy or appetite to eat. I have been like this since my 1st child was born 6 years ago. Even when i go out for a meal, either at a restaurant or someones house i tend not to eat beacause im running around making sure the kids eat. I guess if hubby was home more often i would sit down to a family meal more.

I snack quite alot during the day. Depending on what i am doing depends on how much i snack and what i snack on. I try to keep my hands occupied so im not forever eating but if im at the computer (which is quite often, lol) i will snack. Chocolate, crackers, biscuits, obviously anything with sugar.

The only thing i do right is drink lots of water. I have always drank water. As soon as i wake up i have a glass of water and i carry bottles of water where ever i go. I only drink tea/coffee when visiting people and when hubby is home i have the odd alcoholic drink.

I admit i dont excercise much, but this year i will have more time for it as it will only be me and my youngest home during the shcool week so i can put him in the pram and walk through the forest around home more often.

I do want to get back to my pre baby weight from 6 years ago, but i need motivation.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rather long entry. I got on a roll and couldnt stop, lol, but reading it back to myself now has made an impact and im ready to keep losing weight.

Keep smiling

gingermuggins xx

p.s

i wish everyone who wants to lose weight the very best and im here day and night to support anybody, just email me :)

hi there..

im new to this whole diet stuff.. was always a small girl until i had children and i cant seem to get rid of the post baby weight.. i used to be able to eat wat i wanted when i wanted. now everything i eat seems to add to my buldging mid section.. im addicted to chocolate and find it so hard to stop the cravings without giving in. my partnher is supportive but gets fustrated when i cave in. im new to brisbane so i have no female friends so i have no one to help keep me on track. plus all my friends in canberra (where i used to llive) work during the day.. when im at my worst.. im hoping there are some one on here that can help keep me on track,, i have gone 2 days with out and junk food.. and im feeling so tired and out of energy.we cant afford for me to go to a weight loss company. so im going it alone.. if there is anyone out there that has any ideas or ways that have worked for them. they would be greatly appreciated..

thankyou for your time
