New member policy

by mumof10Comment Published at 21:4321:430 comments0 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport
I just wanted to let everyone know that if you join this group you should at the least try  and place some advice that can help others. It will nbot matter how trivial it is there may be someone out there t5hat it can help who may be desperate for some help or advice. If this does not occur within a certain time frame yet to be determined then you will be asked to leave the group. input to the group is the reason we join in the first polace i think! It will not matter what you say you can give advice on  types of cots bought best place to buy sleeping items be it cot bed night light or anything else you may think of. There are alot of sleep deprived parents out there that would be grateful for any input at all to help..
Thank for understanding these terms. Even if you just pop in to say hi that will be fine but please do not join just because you can join because you really want to have input into the group!
hope i am not sounding too harsh but i have noticed with a couple of groups there are members whom have joined but had no input even to advice given to others that is all it takes.
look forward to helping any way i can Michelle

SLEEP IS GOOD!

by mumof10Comment Published at 04:2004:200 comments0 comments15 Visits15 VisitsReport
Hi all well thought i would add here as seems a while since someone has!! lol lol we must all be getting plenty of sleep now????!! lol advice already added must really work. well i had all my children into a routine at a young age now all the younger ones go off to bed at  7pm-7.30 pm each and every night. my 15mnth old has now  realise once the bottle is in the microwave it is bedtime so she happily goes and stands next to her cot. it is sooo cute when she first did this about a week ago i was looking everywhere for her i thought she was hiding because she knew it was bed tim. but no she knew alright  i picked her up placed her in cot with milk bottl and she drifted off sooo peacefully to sleep until 7am the next morning. Now i have trouble with my 4 young sons whom have decided it is fun to wake up not just yourself and lie quietly but it is even better to wake up your brothers at 5.30 this is a no go time zone in my house. I get up and politely tell them that the birds are still sleeping and so should they be. They should only get up when i am up and tell them that it is now time for them to get up have brekky and get ready for kinder if this does not work i nicely place them outside even if cold they soon get the picture! Don't wake mummy up too early she gets cranky. lol lol trhey are generally good sleepers unless they are sick then i guess we can forgive them if they wake us up at least 20 times a night for one reason or another. If having trouble with your child sleeping there are  sleep clinics available and i have heard they are pretty good and actually work. I am not sure of their names but will find out and place links here shortly for anyone whom may need it!! thanks

more peaceful sleep ideas from mumof 10

by mumof10Comment Published at 06:0206:020 comments0 comments47 Visits47 VisitsReport
jui always say to my friends and family a child/baby knows and lets you know when and if they really are tired and want to sleep if a child/baby does not want to go  to bed(own) be it cot or bed if a older child who sleeps in a bed i generally make a game of it an/or give them something special of mine be it my pillow or a toy of a sibling or their own that they themselves choose. if it is only a younger child/baby i feel theat sometimes they may need that closeness to our hearts that they had while in utero. look at it the way i do while we were pregnant they could hear our hearts beating and to them it is soothing even outside the womb. With my 13mnth old i sometimes enjoy just holding her close and allowing her to fall asleep listening to my heartbeat i myself enjoy this closeness as usually nightime is the busiest in my houyse. lol lol  I always have a radio playing softly all night in the room even this alone can make them feel secure and while listening to this they generally fall off to sleep. I do not believe in tip toeing around babies/children while sleeping as once there is noise they will noyt sleep they will be awake and well there goes that peace you thought you had... My 3yr old to be honest has only in the last few mnths gone off bottle/dummy and within 2weeks has no need for a nappy at night  so now he is my big boy he tells me i had trouble with him at night with the monsters are under my bed mummy, so i took something of mine which he chose and placed it next to his bed in a spot that he had chosen and told him that nothing is going in his room not even his brothers and sisters as my item would protect him from everything he loves this cos he thinks it is a great game to play only at bedtime and only when he himself feels he needs that done.. lots of friends of mine have had to do the same and trust me it works Caydn now sleeps in his bed all night yay yay for the tiny helpers. I hope this helps someonme out there to get a peaceful and restfull sleep.  with babies i generally give them an item (top or piece of my clothing to hold onto until they are asleep then remove it once they are asleep trust me it worked for me so come on give it a go you have nothing to lose but lots of sleep to gain  night  all
