We hoped to have our second child when Ethan our first was three. We had no propblems concieving the first time however the second was very difficult. Emily  (2nd) was born when Ethan was 5 . Sometimes the best made plans dont work because of watever reason but it may be out of your hands. I think you should ask what would be better to many years apart or too close. As it is 5 years for us is great. Ethan is at preschool so I spend half a day with him as well because I'm at home. Ethan is very helpfull and there has been no jealousy or anything negative change in his behaviour. Though I would have liked the two to be closer I think it works out fine. I think age plays apart in sibling relationship but also the individual personalities, something you can't plan for. Plus when I do go back to work and emily goes to childcare. Ethan will be in school so I wont have to pay twice as much in fees.

i thinks its when you feel you are ready. i have a 9 month old daughter and am 10 weeks pregnant now. im happy their goin to be close in age
