4 year olds in the car - booster seat?

by mcmComment Published at 17:4117:411 comments1 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport
I know the recommendations in Aus say your child should sit in a booster til 7 years. My daughter was too big and at 4 she no longer used one. We didn't have one for my 4 year old cos we thought he was too big but he was forever kneeling on the seat so he could look outside.

He was so rapt when we bought one the other day. I was initially going to get one for my 2 year old for next year but he is happy in the baby seat still.
What I worry about is his head is over the height of the seat. Does it matter? I just thought it may be dangerous.

Does your 4 - 5 year old use a booster?

Re: 4 year olds in the car - booster seat?

Hi

they do say that their head should not be taller than the top of the booster seat.  My 7yr old is in one which expands lengthways, so we can adjust it as he gets taller.  I specifically searched for one like this after seeing it on TV, they also say the seat should have it's wn seat belt but couldn't find a booster like that.  I really liked the idea of the adjustable height.
