My first born daughter is named mostly after her father Andrew and partly after my mothers father(whom I've never met and hugely influenced by the movie Dirty Dancing - watching the movie whislt pregnet made me feel good, her name is "Drew Francis" .
My 2nd daughter was named after my Great Grandmother Ada Mary whom was the closest I'd ever known to having a Grandmother/Nana I loved her very much she passed away 2 months before "Ada Marie" was born. I took Marie from my own name as I wasnt a fan of the name Mary however 1 being English and the other French yet meaning the same name was good enough for me I think it's important for children to know they have family and are named from family. |

I have an unusual name, Lanya which is Polish for young female deer. My daughter is called Europia Gypsy, Europia after her fathers favourite grandma and Gypsy because my partner and I both love to travel. She gets called Pia |

I have three children and my husband and I both like names that are a little different..
Both out boys have quite old names, but in today's society are different from what others are called.. We have Vaughan and Rhett. Both Vaughan and Rhett are Welsh and people are always commenting on how lovely they are.
Our little girls name was easiest to agree upon because we couldn't think of anything else once we'd seen this one.. Anais. Anais is French, we pronounce it Anay however if you go to www.howjsay.com you can get the correct french pronunciation. |

Our first child went without a name for 3-4 weeks, we eventually named him BLAINE ANDREW - the first being we had never heard before and we did want a "commonly used" name, I choose the middle name to keep in line with dad as thats his middle name. Mind you six months after we named him I met another family that had named there son the same, spelling aswell, the two boys were only a matter of a week apart in age.
Our second child - the poor thing wasn't named for 6-7 weeks, just got bubba. We eventually decided on MARDI KATE. Her first name MARDI - is french for Tuesday, she was born on Tuesday at 1.55am. Her middle name came from the midwife that was at her birth.
Now we on our third child, we havent discussed any names for our children since the first child as we could never pick one. And just decided to wait and see our bundles of joy and pick names that suited them.. This time we may have to go for a record 2 months, I notice that I still use our little nicknames for them occasionally |

Judiane????
Not sure if we will spell it like that or like Judyane, because depending on how it is written depends on how it is said.. Mind you in English it would be said the same but in French it will sound a little different if we put the I in there.. Either way I like it...
It is my mother and MIL's name put together....
If we have a boy we are totally stuck... :) |

When i first got pregnant i wanted something good, a cute name you didn't hear everyday. I wanted Kessley if it was a girl and Monty if it was a boy. My husband on the other hand wanted Parker if it was a boy and Lori if it was a girl. We fought over the name for ever moment i was pregnant. Finally when the baby was born our doctors name was doctor parker. My husband thought it was fate and the baby should be named that. i thought it was creepy to have a baby named after the doctor so i thought for sometime and wanted a name that may have sounded like parker but wasn't that, and i came up with Porter.
2 years later i was pregnant again. My husband was in and out of my life alot during those 9 months so my sis and i tried to pick a name. It didn't take too long. we wanted to name the baby after someone. We finally decided if it was a boy John after my husband and Margaret if it was a girl after a close friend. When i told my husband what we wanted he was kinda happy one of the choices was after himself lol. i ended up having a girl Maggie.
The next time i was pregnant alot was going on and picking baby names was the last thing on my mind. when i was about 8 months pregnant my husband died and after that i decided the babies name. Jordan if it was a boy and Jean if it was a girl. Jean and Jordan were names i always wanted but my husband always shot down immediately. After i did have a baby girl i named her Jean
After i got remarried i was pregnant with twins. We knew early on i was having 2 boys. We attended a class on how to introduce your kids to there knew half siblings since my kids were having such a hard time. I met a woman there who had a little boy and named him Keagen. My husband and i fell in love with it and decided the first baby outs name is Keagen. a few weeks later we looked through a baby book and found the name Milo.
a year later i was pregnant again. this time with a boy. we wanted to name him after someone great, a strong name, so we named him arthur. he ended up dyeing at 15 days old but his name stood strong, he was a fighter. |

Dear Mick's granfather wasnt his granfather, so the name he and his family have isn't the name they
are supposed to have (boy its going to be crazy living in this family- i can see it already! So it's either Hanning, which everyone is now. Or Mick wants Pisani which is his real nonnos name- its up to him im happy either way as long as i get kiddies!)
Michael Christopher Hanning
Melissa Jane Bennett/Hanning (planning on one day tying the knott- in the near future getting engaged)
Maddison Jaide Nicole Hanning (Nicole is my deceased little sister :( id like to remember her that way)
Mia Shayne Hanning (Shane is my dads name he wasnt a part of my life till i was 17 and i want to honour this amazing man)
Kaitlyn Dianne Hanning (Dianne is my nan, she is such an amazing woman!)
Id like to find out my gran and pops parents names, i might be able to squeeze them in too!...or just have more babies :) im happy with either one!
Jayden Christopher Hanning (Christopher is my step dad and Micks dads name- so killing 2 birds with 1 stone =)
Hayden Kenneth Hanning (kenneth is my pop, dis husband, he died of cancer and i loved him so much)
Connor Renato Hanning (Reanato is Micks nonno the pisani grandparent he passed away last year)
And the first names? I just like them!
So this is my updated list, hopefully its the last? |

When I was pregnant with my daughter we couldn't settle on a name but we both knew that we wanted something uncommon, but not stupid.
Enter the American TV show 'The Gilmore Girls'. It was in it's first season in Australia and as soon as we heard the name Lorelai we knew that we had found the perfect name.
It took my family a awhile to get used to it, especially mum as she had called her children all by traditional names. But they soon warmed up to it and now everyone says what a beautiful name and even go on the give the meaning of the name (to my suprise).
The only downfall is that I don't want it to be abbreviated to 'Lorry or Lori' at school as it sounds like a truck that carts wood if you know what I mean. My Nan and Father in law call her Lolli for short and I'm ok with that. The other thing is that you can't walk into a novelty shop and by a keyring or hairbrush etc with her name on it because it is not a common name. |

Inde but im not sure can everyone tell how to pronounce it? its pronounced Indie id hate to give my child a name that they are forever correcting! Inde Ana (but the again does anyone think kids will be able to tease her cause of Indianna Jones??) Elsie (my great nan's name) Pisani (my boyf last name) lots of variations i can do and im not sure Inde, Indie, Indy, Inde-Ana lol does my head in thinking about it!
Also Katie Diane(my nan's name) Pisani and Kailee but my boyf neice is called Halle woul that be weird? If i have a boy i like Nicholas Kenneth (my pop) Pisani (that doesnt sound too ethnic?) and Hayden Christopher

I met a guy called Bryn when I was 15 and thought he had the coolest name but by the time I was 20 and pregnant with a boy I couldn't remember the name. I was working in the bank at the time and an old man came in with a beard, all in leathers etc. He was really gross but his name was Bryn so it jogged my memory!
My second son we named Carden James. I wanted to go for a designer name (something like Chanel etc) so we were on our way to the 20 week scan where we'd find out the sex of the baby and I was going through names out loud when I said Cardin (as in pierre cardin). We got home and googled it for a spelling or to see if it was even a name. We chose the spelling with 'e' which is actually a very very old name, more of a last name really. It was officially recorded in USA in 2005 as a first name. There was also a famous baseball player called Carden in the 50's. I love both my boys names because they are unusual but not tacky. Carden James is a classy name I think (I hope hehe). |
