I met a guy called Bryn when I was 15 and thought he had the coolest name but by the time I was 20 and pregnant with a boy I couldn't remember the name. I was working in the bank at the time and an old man came in with a beard, all in leathers etc. He was really gross but his name was Bryn so it jogged my memory!
My second son we named Carden James. I wanted to go for a designer name (something like Chanel etc) so we were on our way to the 20 week scan where we'd find out the sex of the baby and I was going through names out loud when I said Cardin (as in pierre cardin). We got home and googled it for a spelling or to see if it was even a name. We chose the spelling with 'e' which is actually a very very old name, more of a last name really. It was officially recorded in USA in 2005 as a first name. There was also a famous baseball player called Carden in the 50's. I love both my boys names because they are unusual but not tacky. Carden James is a classy name I think (I hope hehe). |
