C- section was fine for me

by kellybellzComment Published at 15:5015:500 comments0 comments4 Visits4 VisitsReport

I had my child planned for a natural birth, even tried the bath at the hospital, nothing seemed to work and the contractions started to get more full on,a c section i had to have as my last resort..it wasn't that bad..it was a quick procedure but took a few days to bond with my daughter as i felt she wasn't mine cos of the c-section..but once i held her hand i didn't want to let go..c sections are fine..the only thing i didn't like was after when lying in bed i had a tube bag which everyone has after a c section for "number 1s" and you didn't even know you were going  as your stomach muscles or something was different and numb after surgery.. and the pain afterwards when you walk i didnt like..it a horrible pulling pain...hmmm things women go through..

C-Sections suck!

by katieroseComment Published at 06:1906:190 comments0 comments44 Visits44 VisitsReport
There is absolutely no way I would ever volunteer for a c-section. My experience was quite horrific and I would not want anyone else to even THINK that major abdominal surgery is an easy option! I managed to get to the point of bub crowning and then being stuck before I had an emergency c-section ( 27 hours posterior labour with only gas after syntocin drip so it wasn't as if i didn't go through a natural labour !) The epidural didn't quite work and I felt it as I was being cut open, screaming, before being knocked out completely.  I had post -op complications for months, pain and I hated the restriction of not being  able to lift , drive and do the necessary things for weeks afterwards. I would like to say that a c-section is NOT always an easy option!

c-section verses vaginal birth

by atacj05Comment Published at 06:0506:050 comments0 comments190 Visits190 VisitsReport

I just want to say that i have had both. my first was a c-section, the second a vaginal and my third a c-section. I ahve to say that vaginal is better all round you heal quicker and bond with ya bub better. I wouldn't wish the C-section on any one. i would love to give birth naturally again but know i can never now because i have had 2 c-section it will be elective from now on.

Do c-sections effect the bond between mother and child?

by Tink1976Comment Published at 05:4505:4516 comments16 comments904 Visits904 VisitsReport
I have one child and she was a vaginal birth and I wouldn't choose to have a c-section unless it was necessary for medical reasons because I feel that having a c-section might effect how I bond with my child, Is this the case? please tell me your experiences if you have had both vaginal and c-section births.

Should elective c sections be allowed?

by mrslunarComment Published at 07:5907:5949 comments49 comments977 Visits977 VisitsReport
With the rise in c sections these days, many women are opting for elective c -sections.....a c section that is planned in advance of the onset of labor to avoid labor all together. Should this even be allowed?

Why give away your power and experience?

by mrslunarComment Published at 13:3613:362 comments2 comments79 Visits79 VisitsReport
I had a friend tell me about her recent birth..........where she was given pitocin, even though she went into labor on her own..........where she was forced to wait to push because they didn'y have a room ready.........where she delivered in an OR because that was the only place availible.........where she needed "permission" to breastfeed and her story was filled with "they allowed me to do this" and "they allowed me to do that".

I was so sad. I can't imagine someone else being in charge of my birth. I can't imagine being in such denial that I would be happy with that. I can't imagine my child coming into the world in chaos in an OR. That makes me so profoundly sad for that baby.

Our bodies are capable. Doctors are trained in what goes wrong. Labor isn't something wrong with you, it's normal. Most problems in labor are CAUSED by the doctors who then fix them and look like heros for it.

I don't understand how smart women can willfully NOT educate themselves about birth. It just seems to be that every woman who knew all the facts would be angry at doctors who performed needless procedures on them. It's weird to me how many women are "happy" with their managed labors.
