My birth experiance with my daughter!!!

Well in March 25/1997 I had to stay overnight in the hospital as the next day I was going to be 41 weeks pregnant and my baby was going to be born.

March 26/ 1997,

I was 17 at the time. The doctor came in at 8 in the morning and told me we were gonna start getting a roll on of having a baby. So he put that cream on to start softening my cervix up. I told the doctor that I didn't want to take any drugs that I wanted to do it ''naturally''  Well in the long run of things I remember being in labour for 6 1/2 hours total. My mom  and Brad came in to see how I was doing and if they could help me in any way. I had lots of back labour. They got me some ice to chew on and Brad was rubbing my legs as they were hurting. So I went for a walk with my mom. I remember her saying it was going to be like taking a big poop. Just as we got back in the room my water finally broke and I though I peed myself. I was a little scared an embarressed. It looked so gross.  Brad and my mom went in the hallway to let everyone know what was going on.I knew my Grandma and Grandpa were out in the hallway. After the nurses cleaned my mess up My grandma and grandpa came in and started video taping me. LOL . It wasn't funny at the time. Telling me to smile. Yeah, hahaha you smile when you are hurting. Grandpa just seem to get me mad with the video camera  that he had brought in. I was ready to scream to get the darn thing out of my face.

The doctor checked me again  around 3:30 and I was 8 cm dialted so it was going to be anytime now.  Brad phoned his parents to let them know the news.  At this point I was given the oxygen mask to help breathe. I was wanting them to give me drugs to take the pain away. I remember yelling at Brad. Telling him that I wanted them. But the doctor said it was too late. I swore at him and told him "F*ck  that  sh*t i t was'' Give em to me now!! But it was too late, so they didn't end up giving them to me. I was mad. But I had no choice to continue.

Next thing I know there is a whole bunch of my family out in the hallway waiting for the new arrival. My mom, Brad and somehow my aunty Barb was in the deliver room and the baby started to come. My doctor had time to get one glove on and he put his tie in his pocket.  All I can remember is crying and swearing. '' Get this %$^$^(*&   baby out of me!!  LOL My mom was holding my hand and Brad telling me to push. Next thing you know the baby was crowning. I can remeber Brad saying it had green hair. Like it was some sort of alien baby or something.   I wasn't allowed to push, and than I had to start pushing again. Than my mom let go of my hand, as I was squeezing it too hard.  I  focused on my mom's words to push . At 4:26 pm my baby girl was born.  I remeber Brad cutting the cord, and my mom saying it was a girl. We have a girl.  We named her Brooke Faye-Ann. She was 6lbs 8 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long.  I named her after my mom and myself. Well her middle names anyway.

Her hair was green as I had an infection. But she had lots  of strawberry- blonde hair under all that gunk and the bluest eyes I had ever seen! She was so tiny! And she was all mine!! All MIne!!

My  grandma and grandpa, Two of my aunts Tracey and Brenda , Brad's mom and Dad, and sister  heard the news it was a girl. I could hear all this cheering in the hallway. Everyone saying Yah and crying. Everyone came to see and me  and baby when she was all cleaned up.  I can remember looking into the eyes of my baby and thinking what a beautiful little girl we had made. When my mom first held her she squatted by the wall and started to cry and said she looked like me. Later on that day I had Brooke's Great -Great Grandma came up and hold her. G G Grandma was 97, so we all got to have a 5 generation picture of all girls right in the hospital room.  My great Grandma told me that it was such a blessing to have 5 generations of all girls in one room.

Well that's one of my stories. Two more to go!!

What an achievement to have 5 generations under one roof!  Your story sounds like it was reasonably quick for a first timer! lol.  That's the way it should be.

How's your mums hand?  Glad you had a reasonably easy first time experience.

That was so nice to read about, your family must be so happy to brought another generation of female into the world.

Thank-you
Sorry so late to say thank-you, but thanks!   I feel that was one good reason that I had Brooke when I did as we had 5 generations of girls.
