hi everyone

i just made the vanilla slices from take 5 issue 28

its at the last stage now where it needs to be refrigerated for one hour.

i will all let you know what its like but the actually custard was yummy ( i lick the bowl)

Hi annie, thankyou for insupiring me to make the vanilla slice. I used lattace biscuits in stead of flaky pastry and ice the top with vanilla icing. You were tottly correct its just YUM.

i know because when i ate the first batch it tasted like lattace biscuits and it would be quicker to make

reason why i say first batch i made another batch today with the extra pastry i had left over in freezer.

my neighbour 3 doors down no longer works and kids have left home so she is forever giving me greek cakes to eat and occossionally when she has made a lot gives a small plate for home

i didnt have enough in first batch to give her but my son has gone to the states as a coach for a soccer tournament so i can now give her a quarter of what i made
