Watchlist

by kseersComment Published at 02:2402:2411 comments11 comments77 Visits77 VisitsReport

Yesterday my watch list came up with a huge list - including things back to 2007.  I deleted them all, but some of them won't go away - I have manually deleted as well as clicked on "Clear Watchlist" and they are still there when I come back.  Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Watchlist

I have been having big problems with it for a couple of days, but reading Matthew's comment, I shall try clearing it and see if it behaves itself from now on. Hope so!

Re: Watchlist

So far me and the new watchlist are not getting on well...

It is noce that the problems from a week ago have disappeared (ie having multiple copies of things on it) but now things are disappearing before I've even looked at them! When I first take a look at it I may find 30 items on it, so I go and look at one. Then I come back and half of them (with various headings so not all related) are left. SO I look at one of the remainder and come back to find one item left. Where are they all going?! The only way to look at them is to go back until I get to the original list.

So, am I doing something silly or is the watchlist misbehaving? Any ideas?

Re: Watchlist

OK Watchlist should be working again.  Key changes are explained in the new text at the top of the Watchlist - but perhaps the niggest change is that the Watchlist should be SUPERFAST !

When you tick an item now it will make all of that "thread of discussion" as "read" - if you click on any item through to a thread you are watching then the same will happen.  The system will assume you have read the whole thread of discussion.

This should make watchlists much more relevant and useful.

We also consider as "read: any items older than 3 months - the topics/articles/blogs etc are still being watched but the activity on the item is marked as "read" after 3 months

This makes everything run a very great deal faster across the whole site - Feedback welcomed !

Re: Watchlist

yes pauline  (pauline270 had same problem. i did initially but i had to click into the actaul blorg comment or lounge and click it there on watch to unwatch. For some reason when you have made a comment personally you actually have to click on the actual item / watch and not just on the screen that says what your watchlist is. so it was back and forth back and forth back and forth until the whole list was exhausted including the figure in brackets you know 7 more to see click  ...

it wouldnt allow you to remove the whole unwatch configuration in one hit!  normally you can !!!
