old sayings

by jenrocComment Published at 04:5304:531 comments1 comments46 Visits46 VisitsReport

Hi! I have been searching for an answer to this for years. It's a saying my mother used to use when we were little, but she's gone now and we haven't been able to find anyone who has ever heard it.

'Doesn't that rip the fork out of your nightie?'

I know it means doesn't that p*** you off, but where did it come from and is she the only one to ever say it?

Re: old sayings

ROFL that's a saying I have not heard for some years.  My grandparents used to say that.  One my mother said if we asked "Why?" was "Because Y's a crooked letter and Zed's no better" which left us rolling our eyes and walking away, knowing we were never going to get an answer hahaha.
