Inventions are the Mother » Group

Do you ever lay awake at night wondering what you can do to something to make it work better?  Decide you need something only to whack 4 things you already have, together to save money & time.  You spend time inventing in your head, only to find it a year later selling like hot cakes & feel ripped off.

Invent without knowing what to do about your GREAT idea, that might be the ONE to make you rich.

I do.  So I thought it might be fun to hear about and/or see photo's of the things that other parents have come up with.

I don't know anything about copywrite, so I suggest you only mention the idea's you think were good idea's but not the ONE, you think might make you a killing.

Anyone who has any knowledge on patents, or prototypes or what the whole process is from inventing to selling, PLEASE, feel free to impart your knowledge here.

Suds on Suds

I suppose I have to kick it off......................I to be honest am a bit hesitant to tell you my GOOD idea's...& well lets face it, they're my idea's so they are nearly ALL good .LOL.

One I know I probably won't ever do is a shop idea.

It's a laundry mat/cafe/bar/....it's called,"Suds on Suds" (get it? beer suds & laundry suds...hhmm.)

Anyway I thought it'd be great in a place like St Kilda in Melbourne. Lots of single people, small living spaces, no room for laundrys at home, all within walking distance of where they live.

You go there, buy your powder (no BYO), use the machine which are at the back of the shop (no one can leave with someone elses clothes without being seen). You sit up at the bar have an alcoholic bevie or a coffee etc, even some snacks, cakes chips etc. There would be games with prizes like "Toss the sock" (sort of like a lolly scramble only it's a whole heap of odd socks & only one pair & if two people get the pair then they have to drink their free drinks arms intwined like when you get married....I made that up too)

Stuff like that. Also there'd be a sock heaven. A board painted with clouds etc is suspended from the ceiling but has pegs all over it and anytime the proprieter finds an odd sock it gets put up there, only to be rescued when the sock owner brings in it's pair, they then have to put a gold coun into a charity tin before it's returned to them. Fun stuff like that, make more of a day of it, than a chore. people would deliberately dirty their clothes just to be able to do more laundry. Of course the machines are over priced by about $2- but they're the draw card. No laundry, no entry.
