Bella and I have hit the big WHO guidelines milestone and breastfed for 2 years! It's only just starting to sink in that we have actually made it to my main goal and I'm starting to feel quite pleased with myself, so I thought I'd share.

Now we are into the bonus breastfeeding period, and maybe one day we'll be tandem nursers.

Congratulations on making it to 2 years! I wanted to make it to 2, then it was all bonus from there. I went back to work but still breastfed her. She had a feed first thing in the morning, before I went to work, after I finished work, then before bed. Gave it up before her 3rd birthday and I was still sad as it was so much a part of us it was hard for me to get over it, but she'd had enough and I wasn't going to force her back on at that age.

hey thats fantastic congrats im almost there my little one is 20 months how much longer do you think you will go for? im not sure how much longer after 2 we will go for as i think i might go back to work just after he's 2 or we might have another baby.

I thought I'd finish at about 2, but now it's so well established and so much a part of our relationship at the moment, I think we'll just keep going and see where we end up. Bel has also up her frequency of feeds so I'm thinking she is feeling the need to be a baby for a little while longer as well. She's a crazy little boob addict!

I'm sort of curious about tandem breastfeeding as well, so I'm kind of hoping I get pregnant soon enough to give it a try.
