Help please

Hello, I'm Gail. My daughter Hannah is 3 and my son sam is nearly 8 months. I am going back to work in 3 weeks as a nurse but fortunately not shift work. I will be working 8-4.30 Monday & Tuesday and 9-5.30 Wednesday. I only live about a 15min drive from work fortunately but I am so disorganised and I am worried about keeping it together when I return to work. Any suggestions. Thanks

xx Gail

Ok I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. I am in a dilemma with the bedtime though as my husband is a dairy farmer so my 2 year old goes to bed at 8pm otherwise he does not get to spend anytime with his father as he does not finish work until 6.30-7pm and 7pm opnwards during calving season.

If you can do a routine up for the boys wprking around that I would be very greatful.

Rachael

PS Josh the 2 year old gets up at about 7.30-8am

My baby is a few days shy of 9 months. Is she ready for one nap? She will only take one, so should I just move her morning nap up a bit, and put her down after lunch?

Routine for a 2 year old

My son was in a lovely routine up until he turned 2. He would get up at 8.30... sleep again at 12 for 2 hours then be in bed at 7 but he usually wouldn't go to sleep till 9.. . .

THEN he turned 2...

It's all about adjusting. When he decided a month after he turned 2 that he wasn't going to sleep during the day we just had to make some changes. Now he gets up at 7.30, stays up all day and has 'quiet time' which is a movie ... usually nemo or monsters or shrek... then he goes to bed at 6.30. I no longer have the drama I had with the arvo sleep when he wouldn't sleep till late cos he wasn't tired.

Nearly 4 year old

My daugther had a wonderful routine that worked really well for us.  She was having dinner at 5pm, followed by a bath and was dressed for bed by 5:45pm.  We would then read stories, turn out the lights and talk about the day and she would be asleep by 6:30pm.  Now she goes to daycare from 8am to nearly 6pm, she doesn't get her dinner until nearly 6:30 and by the time she gets to bed it's after 7 sometimes even 8pm and she's really tired and cranky, half the time she skips her stories because she's so tired but I place great importance on story time.  On weekends she has story time and is in bed by 6:30/7pm and all is well but through the week i have a tired cranky child that i pick up from daycare.  There is no chance of a daytime sleep, if she has a daytime sleep she's awake half the night and the other kids at daycare don't sleep in the day anyway so she wouldn't for that reason.  Is there anything I can do to fit it all in, including story time in the evening? What would you suggest?

STUBERN 2 & 1/2 YEAR OLD GIRL

Hi if you can make a routine for my daughter & it works then you deserve a medal.

My daughter is 2 & 1/2 & refuses to have a sleep during the day but when she dose she won't go to sleep untill 9:30 pm or later.

At the moment she gets up at 7am has her warm milk straight away & breakfast by 8:30am, plays with her dolls & watches ABC kids, at 10:30am she has a snack, plays, reads or watches tv (if were not out) untill 12:30pm, we have lunch then go outside to play (at the moment she has no outside toys to play with as we are moving interstate so everthing has been pack up for the move in 2 weeks), then she comes in & watches ABC Kids at 3pm & at 4:30pm - 5pm has a bath, 5:30 - 6pm has dinner 6:30pm in bed watching a movie & going to sleep by 7 -  7:30pm.

This works but I would like to know if you have something that might help a little more around the bed time because we do still have a little trouble getting her to stay in bed, she still gets up so we put her back & so on. I would really like to know what you think.

My daughter's name is Charli she is 2 & 1/2

Thanks Jacki
