First Aid n Health tips 4 Kids » Group

After seeing quite a few brilliant advice articles on topics which would fall under this topic, I thought I would see if there was a group with more similar topics, and there wasn't...

So, here 'tis.

I would love if some of the authors of the topics which fall under this category would copy and paste their topics here too, please.

I would also be interested to see some of the DON'Ts people have for this area as well.

First Aid, 15secs to 30secs

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have just heard that the First Aid chest repetitions has changed from 15secs to 30secs? Does anyone know what the exact number is for children and babies now that it seems that the CPR process has changed?

Mouth Injuries

Stop the bleeding
I have found a cold (tube) ice block usually the best way to stop or reduce bleeding of a mouth injury, plus the calming the child, giving you the ability to then assess the severity og the injury.

I have also tried and confirm the old wives tale of putting sugar on a split lip to stop bleeding. The sugar partially disolves and congeals rapidly, helping the blood flow stop more rapidly... then you have to stop the child from licking their lip to keep the sugar on there! LOL
