Hi! My brother who lives with me recently celebrated his 16 birthday.  I have had him for awhile now.

Just wondering if anyone else' is dealing with attitude from their 16 yr olds?

16 year olds

I have a16 year old son and I can honestly say that I have no problems with him. Nicholas is my youngest. I treat him with respect and he trreats me and his dad the same. He is going into year 11 this year so I guess the growing up is about to start.

He had a big bust up with the LOVE of his life a few months ago, and he came to me for advice about it, it must have worked because he is over her now.

We are going through a very painful time right now, read all on my blog page.

I do not have any problems with his 18 year old brother either, they both stay home and compute, occasionaly Nicholas will go to a Blue Light Disco, but hey mainly sit on their computers, and have mates over, for example, Josh has been here for 2 weeks already this school holidays, but having said that Nicholas needs him , see my blog page..

Hello
My daughter is sixteen. It's a tough time. They have so much going on in their heads.  Peer pressures,  future goals , school,  hormones.   When my daughter gives me attitude, I pause, ask if her she's like to talk about it, and then tell her tone is not acceptable and if she's like to try again.  I get a lot of 'eye rolling' deep sighs, and stomping off.  I try not to complicate her life anymore that it all ready is, and don't pressure her very much except  that she be respectful to her Dad and I. It's a slow go, but once you set the pace of what is acceptable and what is not, they get the idea.

Living the 16 year old night mare

Hi there my eldest is 16 and I realise now what my mum said to me when I was this age is coming true lol. She told me that she could not wait for the day when I was a mum and had to deal with this He is a handful and the attitude is just beyond control. I know this sounds terrible but it is good to know I am not the only one hehe.  Sorry no real advice on what to do I just keep trying different things out but if he is in a mood and has attitude that day nothing I do seems to change it.  If anyone has something that works I would love to hear it.........
