Photo board..

by JessgoreComment Published at 20:0720:070 comments0 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport

A little while back I brought a pin board.. You know those things made out of cork.. I can't remember why I brought it in the first place...  Anyway it was just lying around.

I had tons of photos that did not have any other home but a box..

So I painted up the frame to match my wall and just pinned all my old photos on there...

Looks good. Think i will do some more...

Cut and Paste...

by JessgoreComment Published at 21:5721:570 comments0 comments24 Visits24 VisitsReport
All this stuff can be brought at the 2$ shop, or any arts and craft place...
A book of colored paper,
Some plain paper
scissors
glue stick ( if you forget just add some water to a bit of cooking flower and you have clag.)

You cut up into little pieces the colored paper, you can cut tiny squares, (but you'll be there all day) or you can cut all shapes and sizes...

Then you can draw a picture, for example being Christmas you'd draw a Christmas tree, then have your child glue lots of different colors inside the drawing...

Mosaic (SP) pictures are fun for kids to do, and if you cut the pieces of paper small enough you will have the occupied for quite some time...

I just did this with the kids at the day care and they loved it...

Try this web site. It's all about kids being creative.

www.thecreatives.com.au

There are beginner, a little harder and challenging project. Some of the ideas just use stuff you would have laying around the house, like old milk cartons (check out the bird feeder in the beginners section), egg cartons, cardboard boxes.

If you live in Australia kids can join The Creatives Club at any Spotlight store and get a free Member kit with stickers, pencils, pencil case and other goodies.

Christmas decorations

by MarlenaComment Published at 14:2614:260 comments0 comments127 Visits127 VisitsReport
I could really afford much thi syear so I decided to decorate the house using home made decorations.  I just made your old fashion hand made decorations that people might of forgot about.  We made paper snow flakes for the window and paper chains instead of lights.  It was fun and Austin likes them.

Christmas Crackers

by angelmumComment Published at 18:0418:040 comments0 comments141 Visits141 VisitsReport
You will need
  • Crepe Paper
  • Toilet roll tubes
  • Zig-zag scissors or normal doesn't matter
  • Jokes on small pieces of paper, or nice messages
  • Wrapped lollies or little gifts
  • cracker snaps
  • rubber band
  • Pipe cleaners Sparkly ones if you can get
  • Shiny hologram tape and glue
  • small gift bows: red and green
  1. Use scissors to cut a piece of green crepe paper three times as long as the toilet-roll tube and wide enough to go round it with a 3cm overlap
  2. put a wrapped sweet, folded paper crown, joke and cracker snap in the toilet roll tube
  3. cut red crepe paper the same width but 2cm shorter than the green.  Wrap both layers round the tube and hold them in place with a rubber band
  4. cut 2 x 15cm length of pipe cleaners and wrap them around each end of the crackers
  5. Cut 2 strips of hologram tape and glue them round the tube. Remove the rubber band and decorate the tube with a gift bow
To make the paper crowns Cut a piece of tissue paper about 15cmx60cm glue both ends together and fold it in half twice, cut the paper to a point. open it out and you'll find a crown
