Mine are younger and we have been to Tenerife a few times but it probably hasn't been as hot. I think that I would be tempted to take a umbrella fold pram with you, if you can. Puch chairs are above the luggage allowance for most airlines, so atleast you don't need to pass up taking clothes, and I always find that I am far more tired in hot weather. He might just end up falling asleep more and at least you can keep on with your plans.

I tend to pack those UV tops when we go away so that by the pool I don't need to worry so much about reapplying sun lotion so often. You can also get those water aerosol sprays for the face and body that are good to cool you down.
