Phoque in french means seal, yes the animal… And when said sounds like exactly like the English F**K.   Now my mother had no idea of this, and the first visit she has here to Quebec and the first time she met my step daughter, she discovered this… How well they went to a tourist shop with my four year old (at the time) step daughter. And while walking through the store she says F**K. My step daughter saw the reaction of shock on my mothers face and thought it was so funny so continued F**K, F**K, F**K. After my mother picked herself up off the ground from embracement, she realized that my step daughter was pointing to a shelf full of seals.. Or in French Phoque.. And thus she learnt a new word in French..
