A message from Kellzacar - update on Tony

by RukiaComment Published at 04:5604:5610 comments10 comments110 Visits110 VisitsReport

Hi,

Last night at 9.30 pm my husband (only 35) was suddenly over come with chest pains . . .

I called an ambulance as he was having problems breathing and complaining of chest pain and also pain shooting down is right arm . . All my 1st aid training kicked in and I new to call am ambulance . . .

They arrived and hook him straight up to heart monitors and alarms began going off like mad . . Hubby's heart was racing along at massive 200 beats per minute . . OMG . . . .  They had cannula in his arms within seconds and popped a tablet under his tongue BUT nothing worked . .  So it was lights blazing all the way to the hospital . .

I was stuck at home urgently trying to get a sitter. . . Finally one arrived and I flew to the hospital . . .  By then hubby had then had another two canulas put in, he was hooked up to 5 different machines and had mulitiple drips. . . ALL machines had thier alarms blaring and I was really overwhelmed.

By 1am they had tried 7 different lots of meds and still his heart beat was way too fast. The doctors explained to me that because his heart had been beating so fast for so long that he was at a VERY high risk of a stroke. So I had to sign a form to give me some special drugs to help prevent a stroke and then at 3am they gave him some sedation that put him in a borderline Coma.

This was the only thing left to do for him as they knew he was going to need to be shocked (defibralted) in order to restore his rythm but they were unable to do that until the other meds they had used were out of his system.

So at 3.30am my husband was deeply sedated and they made me go home for some rest as I was also battling a migraine through this whole ideal. They asked me NOT to be present when they socked him as many partners are too disturbed by watching this procedure. They promised to phone me as soon as it was okay for me to return . .

At 8.30 am my phone rang, I nervously answered it and it was my hubby. It seems that when they woke him from his induced sleep his heart had corrected itself . .  He was fine to come home . .

He is now on speacial meds and needs to see yet another specailist . . . This has all happended on top of the fact that 4 weeks ago he began suffering from Grandmal Seizures and they are yet to diagnos the cause . .

What a night - What a month . . . . . .

I am terrified that I may lose my very much loved husband . . .

Kellz

Oh hun.  I really wish I could be there to help with baby sitting etc.  It is such a scary time for you and your family right now, and it sounds as though you aren't copping all that well.  You need to get some extra help in, call up the favours you have been saving etc.

Let's hope that you have some answers soon and that Tony can get back to a more normal life.  I'm guessing there is a blood pressure issue here somewhere, so getting a monitor at home might be a good idea.  We have one that we don't need at the moment, so if you would like it, let me know and I'll try and find it.

I'm thinking of you and your family (and kicking myself for not having moved to Tassie when we left Canberra!)

Hi Alana

I know that you are very strong on the outside for everyone but so soft on the inside . Now keep the thoughts in your head that Tony is going to be o.k. try so hard to block all the negative energy away, go up to Tony and give him a hug with all the posatives in you mind and brush the negatives away by sliding your hands down his arms. I  feel your pain so you can give all your love to Tony, now go give him a possative hug from all of us.
