Multiple cross stitches

by sunshineoz15Comment Published at 20:1620:161 comments1 comments24 Visits24 VisitsReport

I've lost count of how many projects I have on the go. I get really enthusiastic when I start something but then another one comes along and I can't wait to start that one too.

It's nice to have a few going because sometimes I don't feel like working on a particular subject or with certain colours.

I'm the same with reading - I always have at least 4 books on the go.

Hi

I am a cross-stitch lover, I've only just started doing them but can't seem to get enough of them.  I am currently working on an Egyptian x-stitch but already have three other projects lined up.  My next one is a Giraffe for my 5yo who is absolutely mad about giraffes.

My soon to be SIL has four on the go, I was just wondering if anybody else has more than one x-stitch in work?

Stiched Dragon

by sunshineoz15Comment Published at 16:3916:390 comments0 comments69 Visits69 VisitsReport

This is my latest stitching effort. I have started producing my own charts based on various fantasy artworks. I have contracts with 8 artists to produce charts based on their works. Each chart will be worked up from a hand stitched design.

This dragon is stitched using variegated orange thread to give him a mottled effect with blending filament added to the wings for sparkle.

Cross stitch round robin

by sunshineoz15Comment Published at 02:1002:102 comments2 comments182 Visits182 VisitsReport

Would anyone be interested in joining in a Cross Stitch round robin where everyone does part of a cross stitch project to later be donated to charity?

I have lots of left over bits of thread we could use and plenty of patterns to choose from if anyone has a particular theme they would like to stitch. I guess the theme may also depend on the charity chosen.

My first ever show - I won!!!

by sunshineoz15Comment Published at 03:1603:161 comments1 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

I entered 3 items - 2 cross stitch projects and a bead point project in the Red Hill Show over the weekend (pictures to follow later) and was stunned to be awarded two 1st place prizes for the cross stitches and a 2nd place for the bead point.

I have never entered my work into competitions before so I was speechless when I saw the ribbons hanging on my work. I've already started working on something to enter next year.

Hello everyone!

I'm so glad someone started this group.  I love cross stitching.  Most of the time I work on big projects in front of the TV.  I love big projects because I find it so hard to choose a new one when I'm done.  I like the way it takes a while to complete and I find I have a stronger sense of accomplishment when I've completed a large project.  Although, since I've got so many hanging around our house, I'm planning to give them away to fundraisers, particularly the auction at the school I used to teach at or at church.  At least that's the plan.  Haven't finished one yet to do so!

Love to Cross-Stitch!

by AaliyahComment Published at 20:2120:212 comments2 comments31 Visits31 VisitsReport
Good Morning from my side of the earth.  I hope that everyone will have or is having a great day.  Hopefully later today I will put up a picture of a project I am almost finished with.  I was wondering how you might keep the stitches nice so that the back does not look like a catastrophe.  When I am cross-stitching I always end up with parts that are hard to finish because the area feels so bulked up with the other colors.  Do you have some tips that might help to prevent this?  I always start out doing really well and then about half way through I have no idea what happens.  I do have a hard time with the half-stitches etc.  I appreciate any advices you can give me to help it to look better.  I look forward to hanging out with you and learning in the process.  Have a great day!

Welcome

Welcome to Cross Stitch Crazy.

My Unicorn is one of my favourite small projects. I love working on fantasy themes and wild animals, but also can't resist teddy bears.

I have a cupboard full of half finished projects as I'm forever buying and starting new things.
