Facebook is a social networking site. Ive found so many friends I went to school with on there, I love it. Its a bit like Myspace which is your own personal webpage. You can upload pics, join groups, chat to friends, and write blogs.
Free graphics and photo editing tools:
SilveryWitch Creations is great for free graphics if you like witchy style things. Or you can edit your existing photos on Blingee and add glitters and clip art etc. Photobucket is great for image hosting and makes some cool slideshows and avatars too. It also converts your existing photos to html format for posting on Myspace etc.
Recycling sites:
Most people have already heard of Freecycle but for those that havent, it is a site where you pick the group that is closest to you, and people that no longer want furniture, clothing, household items etc post it on there and you contact the member to arrange a time to pick it up for free. The site is doing some amazing things to reduce landfill and I love what they are doing. Some similar sites are E-cycled and Pass It On. Im a huge fan of Pass It On, as it is a cross between Freecycle and Myspace. You can create a profile and have a home page, and also have people add you to their friends list, and be rated. You progress up the ranks similarly to how you do on Minti, by user participation and ratings. Its only new, but I see big things happening there. If you havent joined up to that one, I urge you to!
Sites my kids like to visit for games:
My kids are computer addicts like me, so I try and limit their online time to educational websites. NOGGIN and The Playground are good.
