Coca cola chicken

Sounds gross I know but absolutely gorgeous. When people ask what it is they go ugh until they taste it and go yum can I have some more?

Take 12 chicken drumsticks/thighs.Coca cola(not diet),Tomato ketchup,Worcester sauce,Garlic,Hp sauce,Salt and Pepper.

1-In a large jug pour equal quantities of coke and tomato ketchup.Add minced garlic,a dash of worcester,HP,and a good shake of salt and pepper.Whisk together until well mixed.

Roast chicken for 30 mins in oven uncovered.Drain all fat out of tray.Pour the mixture over the chicken and place uncovered back into oven gas 5/190 for approx 30-40mins.Baste and turn chicken halfway through. The coke mixture goes thick and makes a lovely, sticky barbecue glaze. This can be adapted by adding chilli or onions etc.

I guarantee everyone will love it but don't tell them how you did it beforehand or you'll get an ugh!!!

Interesting & I bet it's nice....don't think it would fit in too well with my diet though, LOL!

Might have to give it a try on a naughty day, HAHA!

Re: Coca cola chicken

I have had this before and it was so good. Do you think it would turn out ok if I just used large pieces of breast chicken? Also as the others said...can you give quantities of the coke/sauce mixture please?

Re: Coca cola chicken

I do think that the skin on the chicken helps to be honest although I have made it without. To be honest I usually guess sauce/chicken ratio.I usually put half a pint of coke to half a pint of ketchup.Hope this helps.

Re: Coca cola chicken

About half a pint and half a pint of ketchup-once you have had it you'll want it all of the time.

Re: Coca cola chicken

Sounds interesting anyway, but I'm game! But I'm going to leave it for a night that I can get the dinner on without hubby seeing the ingredients otherwise he wont eat it I'm sure.
I will let you know.   As an estimate, how much coke do you use to cover the chicken? I dont want to go overboard!
