naughty step method ....good idea?

by shhmumsthewordComment Published at 07:4607:463 comments3 comments26 Visits26 VisitsReport

We have seen these are getting very popular and with baby no2 on the way they sound ideal ...the mat is sensored so i'll know if he gets up it has a timmer to tell him when hes allowed to get up, but are they really all that good I thought id sit here and do some research and some articles say no!...

So whats your thought's here, sould we invest in one? are they any good? could they have a negative undesired effect? see although I see many articles saying no.. dont use the time out and naughty step methods... I haven't as yet come across an article that can explain...so who better to ask than you?

Need tips for a 7 year old

by Domestic-warriorComment Published at 20:1220:128 comments8 comments65 Visits65 VisitsReport
OK, my seven year old drives me insane.......if i tell him to stop doing something he just carries on doing it.  I have to tell him three or four times, i try to give him warnings and then time-out but it is so frustrating.  I'm thinking that time-out is too babyish for him and maybe i should be taking away privileges like TV etc.   Sometimes he also has a surly attitude, is this normal for this age...i didn't think that would come until teenage years!!

toddlers outta control...

by shhmumsthewordComment Published at 08:4408:443 comments3 comments66 Visits66 VisitsReport

actually no maybe im doing something right i really dont know but recently weve seen a few kids around macs age and i cant believe the way they behave macs 16mnths now he went through a small hitting faze and the head butting but they didnt last long maybe its because we were consistant from the start .

he was told no he got hand smacks even some nappy smacks too which some of you may say is wrong but honestly i think ive smacked his nappy twice and he knows now when i say no i mean it ,of course he trys to get away with things flashing his gorgeous smile dont they all? but as soon as he sees me rise my hand or say smack its game over!

Ive seen kids hit there parents bite them scream no, but then I also saw parents rip trousers and nappys down and paste there children so weather or not you believe my way is right or wrong its worked i need no physical contact with my child other than hugs of course lol and thats the way i wanted it i dont want to be hitting my child but i dont want a child that has no respect or concept of consequences for there actions.

Just incase anyones misunderstood me i dont hollar smack waving my arms around all day id say maybe once a fornight he'll puch me far enough to say smack admittedly im so greatful i dont have to do it im really to soft and would be that mummy that has a confused child as shes sorry and hugging them after offering them treats etc

So thats me and my disaplin whats your method?

Hugs jo xxx
