does anyone have any thoughts on All Saints College?

They certainly know how to turn out good people - I went there!

I think they've got good pastoral care (counsellors if you are having a tough time) and have good facilities ie swimming pool, performing arts centre etc.  There is some religious stuff (or there was 17 years ago) but not too overboard  - religious education once per week, prayer at assembly once per week and communion about once or twice a term.

I went to Corpus Christi...but it was 13 years ago...at that time it was a little religious and I did not like co-ed, boys messed with your head and I think would have had a better time at an all girls school or segregated classes. Not sure about All Saints, just had friends that went there.

They're all religious too.  The only non-religious private schools we've been able to find are the Montesorri schools.  Not that we've been looking very hard yet.

From my experience, I found that it is a belief system as well, just as strong as a particular religion. My Montessori playgroup is held at a Uniting Church.

Is that uniting church in nedlands, corner princess and Bruce st?? if so, that funny, I just live cross the road. I'm taking Sophie there next year.

Yep, we're aware that they have strong philosophy.  They are still the closest thing to a non-religious private school in Perth though.  Not a lot of options there for atheists.

Montessori is almost a dedication itself. Codi goes to Montessori Playgroup but as a school I would really recommend you check out the schools philiosophy. On Scotch and PLC's website it can be taken the wrong way. We have met with the headmaster of Scotch and did a tour of PLC junior school and they are very far away from school like Loretta, Corpus Christi and Catholic schools. In speaking and visiting these schools, it is more of a usage of what is success from christianity, as well as other tools used in the business world in personal devleopment, such as inquiry into your 'self', they elaborate more on Edward De Bono and the six thinking hats, all of which employers pay thousands and thousands of dollars to train and bring to their organisations. Scotch are very much attune to the real social world and prepare their students for the leading edge workplace. Rather than just IQ they focus on EQ (emotional intelligence). In our business we have paid quite alot to develop in our organisation as well as trying to recruit staff that have a deep understanding of self, have good values and beliefs as well as current personal development foundations to give us an added edge and team.

i wouldn't call them very religious at all. acquinas i think is quite religious.

The Uniting Church, of which Scotch College is a part, describes itself in its Basis of Union "as a pilgrim people, always on the road to a promised goal".

Do you know any private school for boys that's not religous or at least not too much.

Depending on your budget...Scotch College is not that religiously focused, it's more of encouragement focused to explore all areas and make their own choices. The headmaster is amazing and uses the good philiosophies of relgion in a practical manner, much like most of us today who just try to be good people with good values and morals.

I might add I do not practice any religion.

fair enough - but I went to Scotch and I am not religious. The 1 hr of chapel a week was spent day dreaming ;)
