do you remember before the mobile phones? we had a pager system they were mostly owned by businesses. my husband had one given to him from work.
in case of emergency i would ring the pager then i would leave a message with the operator from the call centre and hubby would ring me back.
my hubby would get a beep on his beeper (or pager) read or listen to message but would have to get to a phone to call back. ah technology!! how advance has it got in a short space!
