I can not have gluten as i am a coeliac...

if i dont wish to pay top dollar for gluten free biscuits and cakes then i just cant have any....

usualy i do with out instead... no biscuits cakes bread pasta ect.... which is not realy aproblem as fruit and veg are healthier but it does get boring after a while...

sad thing is it is hereditary and my daighter stands a good chance of developing it... poor gal

well all you got to love my allergy
gday peachy, one of my work mates is gluten intolerant as well. man i would hate to have his illness. more often than not he will knock back an invite out to lunch, or dinner, or xmas parties etc, coz hes just too sick of the repercussions of if he eats something that he cant have. when catering for meetings i always go out of my way to make sure if the boss wants me to order something that he cant eat, i will always make sure i get something special for him, because as a mother of a child with food intolerances as well, i hate to see people having to miss out. how on earth do you cope, girl????? it would drive me crazy!

big lifestyle change it was when i found out but... my health has greatly improved and it is all worth it...

i sometimes but rarely relapse and eat something i should not but always end up regretting it cause i get run down very quickly if i do...

I feel your pain and frustration

Oh what a pain this coeliac business is.

I am Coeliac as well but when I tempt fate no holding back Im just sick in a very unattractive way.

I did however go to the allergy expo and gluten free food show a couple of weeks ago in Sydney. I found myself in gluten free heaven. New things are coming to coles and woolies stores like chocolate mud cake and ready made pizzzas in the frozen section. They had at the show but have yet to be put on shelves.

I know they are expensive but it makes me feel good to eat something remotely similar to what other people eat.

As yet I dont think my son has any allergies. He eats regular bread and other glutinous products with no reaction seemingly. But he ius still young and Im not prepared to have him properly tested until he is old enough to cope with it.

the things I found most frustrating when I was diagnoed with Coeliac at 17 was the torture of being with other people and watching ads on tv for things that I couldnt eat. I also put on weight after being diagnosed with it. went up 2 dress sizes and fluctuate up and down alot until the last couple of years.

I still cant deal with being at parties very well because I cant eat almost everything.

I really hope that my son will never have this torturous allergy
